Most electronics will not power up with this inverter due to being "modified sine wave". You will need a PURE SINE WAVE inverter. A basic lamp, hair drier, or fan will work, but for a Dewalt grinder or battery charger like I needed it for, the device will not even turn on. I did attempt to use a 1400 watt heat gun on this unit, but it kicked off within a few seconds. Would not recommend.

Nice unit. I purchased to run my 5th trailer with. Hooked up easy. Operation is silent. The fact that it comes with a ANL fuse kit is out standing. That is needed on inverters. It’s installed at the 1.5 ft mark on the positive cable. inverters that do not come with the power wire and fuse will run you around $40 to $50 or more to add. I disconnected the power converter on my main panel that charges the battery and hooked it up to my shore power line. Works great. I have a built in vacuum, microwave, kurig coffee maker, toaster all worked great. Tv picture was no difference then on shore power. Did not try the a/c as it was not warm enough for a real test. It should work as the inverter puts out 16amps constant and can peak to just over 30amp. My trailer is a 30amp power, and a/c has worked when plugged in at home on 15amp.

I see a lot of question about what can a inverter run. Nothing that I really wanted the inverter to run was over 1300 watts, which is why I went with the 2000 watt unit. When a appliance starts up it can pull up to 3 times it’s wattage to start. So the 2000 watts unit can run a 1333 watt appliance without a issue. This is because this 2000 watt inverter can peak to 4000. Please keeep this in mind when choosing a inverter. And don’t leave a bad review because you bought a 1000 watt invertor to run a 1000 watt item. Your going to have issues.

Also please make sure you have a strong enough battery bank to run the unit. A 12v Rv battery, unless it’s the new lithium type, is not going to cut it. I run 2 6v 235amp hour batteries. I should be running 4. If my solar panels don’t have direct sun, I can only run for 16 hours without cutting back on how I use power.

Going to install in 5th wheel for dry camping. Will update my review after I install it and test it out. After Installing the unit I found it to operate very well. Installation was simple. Remote is a nice touch. The unit has a power draw when in the unused mode. With the remote you can shut it down until you need it without running out and turning on the master switch. Any battery power saved is welcomed. Called customer service with a few questions and was amazed at the help I received. The tech questioned my complete installation to insure I was getting as much power as I could from my installation. He was very professional in his in explaining everything to me so I understood everything. One thing that is mentioned in the manual is measuring the voltage with a multimeter. You DO NEED an EMS multimeter to get the correct voltage measurement. One that is not will not be accurate. Could be off as much as 10 or more volts.
I am completely satisfied with this unit.

Update: Inverter is installed in my 5th wheel. Unit works extremely well. Remote is great to have. When it's not needed you can turn it off without leaving the trailer. Save on battery draw when turned off. Very pleased with the unit and customer support.

We have bought at least 5-6 inverters in the past three years and are very happy with Krieger 2000 Watts Power Inverter so far. The rest either did not last or failed to perform. We use Krieger for off grid power in a ranch, with two 100-watt solar panels and two 100 Ah deep cycle batteries, mostly for lighting and charging power tool batteries. We will add more as needed. The most important aspect of such an inverter is being reliable with all kinds of protections, such as overload, short circuit, high voltage and low voltage protections. The rest failed on them. A short circuit or overload incident would simply kill one. They were not cheaper than Krieger and many were name brand ones such as Dewalt. The only complaint I have about Krieger is that it seems to fail to differentiate real low voltage from high load caused low voltage. For example, we use a 750-watt microwave. This unit is rated 2000 watts and 4000 watts peak and should be able to handle it easily. But it often goes into self protection shut-off mode. I believe that it is because battery side voltage goes below the threshold with the load. I also recommend buying a 300A circuit breaker to replace the fuse included.

Too early to write a fair review. Looks well built and User Manual appears complete and easy to understand. Purchased 2000 watt unit to power basement sump pump in the event of loss of utility power during hurricane or tropical storm. Recent tropical storm dropped 6 inches of rain and sump pump was running about once a minute for 10 seconds or so for a couple hours. Winds weren't bad and only lost power once for about a minute. Watt meter shows sump pump draws about 900 watts, manufacturer (Zoeller) indicates starting surge is about 3000 watts. Don't have deep-cycle marine battery but have used G94R battery from diesel pickup that I hope will suffice in emergency. Plan to test out ability of inverter and battery before next storm is on the horizon. I hope the need for backup power to sump pump is rare. This approach is cheaper (so far) than replacing or supplementing existing AC sump pump with DC pump. Hope it is sufficient.
8/10/2020 update: Battery cable clamps arrived and installed. Allowed dehumidifier to fill sump and plugged pump into inverter. Ran fine, in a few seconds sump was down and pump turned off. Unit indicated pump drew about 565 watts while running. Appears this will meet our needs. May be years before it gets a true test, that is we lose utility power during extended torrential rain.

Seems like products being falsely advertised on Amazon is becoming a trend. I'll be returning this immediately. I received this product today and immediately went to testing it out with my deep cycle batteries for my boat since this is going into my waterproof power box for the fishing boat. Immediately disappointed. This unit claims to be for 110-120 volt devices, but can't even exceed 103 volts maximum. I tried running multiple devices from a laptop to a shop fan to a reciprocating saw, no luck. I won't be running my devices at such low voltage and causing damage, thankfully I tested it out before actually putting it into service. I'm fine with modified sine wave so long as the voltages are correct. Using this will just prematurely burn devices out. Packing it up in the box right now for a return.

The inverter seems well built and the fact it's only a modified some wave inverter explains why it's at the price point it is.

My one problem with this unit is it doesn't have a display readout on the remote like I've seen other inverters have, just an on off button and an led light to indicate if it's on or off.

One review on here said it didn't actually reach 110V output but I never had that issue. I'll try to update this reveiw with a photo when I put an oscilloscope on the output.

Grésillement (bruit) anormal du micro-onde avec l’ondulateur en raison de l’onde modifiée: sans souci, de toute façon le micro-onde vaut significativement moins cher que l’ondulateur et il n’est pas utilisé souvent.
Conseil: bien serrer les fils de gros calibre à la batterie et à l’ondulateur pour éviter un signal de manque de puissance de l’ondulateur.

I bought this inverter for my boat. The 4th time I used, I was using a coffee maker drawing 800 watts. With is a minute the overload alarm came on, and now as soon as I power it up it comes on with in 30 seconds with no load. I read some articles with others having the same problem, with other size Krieger inverters.
