Legit, I went through the gambit of reviews and lists. This was consistently at the top and was supported by the stats and specs from the manufacturer. Nothing comes close. But did I need it?
Half of this purchase was probably pride. The pride to have the best for the value. But I can by 3 pairs of the budget brand monitors for the same price. Hell the budget brand even comes with more connectivity options for you at a reduced fidelity level. (which you won't notice).
At the end of the day I bought respect and optics from those that come over to see my home studio set up. They recognize the iconic yellow cones ones they have seen in countless home studios. They see me as someone who treats my product seriously.
Lets not kid ourselves too much. The price difference is too big to justify unless you produce products. Standard home consumers need not waste unless you bring in money. Even then a good pair of headphones might to the same for less.
