Hello,
I'm giving this 4 stars, it's not perfect but it's way better then a lot of other stuff out there.
I got this to replace my older over-one-sholder similar format backpack (by lowepro slingshot 200) ... but ended up keeping the old one.
The awesome:
- two straps are great, interchangeable straps are awesome, can shift weight from one to both to other shoulder.
- mini laptop or ipad sleeve is great too, but it's a bit small for any decently sized 13" or above laptop.
- a pretty large amount of space, probably more then you should ever really use as you can pack the thing quite heavy.

The goods:
- compartments are very well laid out, has very convenient pocket arrangement.
- has some very nice loops to hook other stuff too like the tripod.
- Boxy shape means it stands by itself, it's great for your backpack full of expensive gear not to roll around as you put it on the floor.

The not so good:
- The velcro inside seems a bit thin, protection could've been better.
- The velcro inside doesn't stick terribly well so it doesn't hold the heavy lenses inside we'll.
- The main compartment zipper doesn't seem to open quite far enough to take out a big lens and full size dslr, but smaller ones should be great.

The really not so good:
- Main reason why I didn't like it: the two shoulder straps are only about an inch and a bit across ... that's not nearly wide enough to be comfortable with full gear set (3 lenses + full size dslr, some flashes etc). I found it dug into my shoulders way too much and I don't think I could spend a full day carrying it around. If you do get this one highly recommended that you get extra strap padding.

Finally:
...

I like this bag a lot. It looks great. I can fit my D90 and all of my accessories. It also has a sleeve for my 7" tablet. The interchangeable straps provide different carrying options. My favorite is the sling option that allows me to take out the camera and start shooting in seconds.

This is a great pack for when I go hiking. I have extra room for all my lenses, flashes, filters and all of my accessories. I even have room for packing snacks for the trail. Awesome! The multi-positional straps make this so handy.

This is an OLD version of the "22". I wanted this version because it holds an iPad. The "22's" that you see on YouTube, are the newer version and are a lot better. Basically, this one doesn't work for me. It's hard to get in the side and if you want to get in the front, you have to unzip both sides. That means that everything can fall out both sides. The inserts don't do much to help. The section in the top is nice for personal and extra things. I just wanted the whistles and bells that the newer version had. I returned mine.

As described. Zippers and material are light duty and could be problematic with use. Material is lightweight and might fail with heavy use. I use primarily as a equipment bag, not as a day/multi-day backpack. For urban photography it is great for swinging the bag around to the front, pulling the camera and using the backpack as a foundation for my arms to shoot . Single or double sling...right or left. Has plenty of pockets and if you don't carry lots of camera gear, it could work as a camera bag and day/overnight travel bag.

I had a look at this pack for a trip to Europe. It would've done OK (though wouldn't handle my D700 with mounted Nikon 28-70 f.2.8 (and that means it wouldn't have handled the 24-70 either), but it would definitely have looked like I was carrying camera gear.

I picked up a ThinkTank Retrospective 7 instead (for a much higher price, it must be said), to maintain a lower profile for theft. The ThinkTank bag rocks, but after 10 days abroad, I must say I thought my back would've done better with a backpack-style bag like this (since my gear is pretty heavy for one shoulder).

Item is as described however there are a few areas of annoyance. Separate pockets in the top compartment would be helpful, The SD card holder is in a weird spot and the tripod straps are sloppy at best. The older version of this bag had a much nicer set up in all these areas. The bag is comfortable as a back pack but not so much as a sling. I can't imagine using it as a sling while the tripod is on it as it would be very awkward.

I have gone round and round with Kata over my purchase. I have some very strong and very mixed feelings about my new bag. At first, I tried to order the older 3N1-11 straight from the Kata website. My purchase was "farmed out" or "outsourced" or whatever you want to call it to Woodland Hills Camera in California. Something at Woodland Hills went wrong. UPS told me that a label was created, not by Kata, but by Woodland Hills, and the package was NEVER DELIVERED TO UPS. I emailed Kata. No response. I emailed them again. No response. By then I was pissed off and convinced that I would never hear from Kata and that Kata did not give a rat's ass one way or the other, so I called Woodland Hills Camera. I spoke to a wonderful person named Sarah who seemed equally pissed as I was that the bag was not even at UPS after several days of sitting in the warehouse. Sarah was nice enough to cancel the order. I wonder if she ever found the bag? Oh, but this is not the end of the story!

I finally ordered a Kata 3N1-22 DL (not what I originally wanted) from Amazon. Lo, and behold! The bag arrived on the second day thanks to Amazon Prime and shipping was free! (Prime is a Godsend. If you don't have it. You should.) So, why couldn't the manufacturer send the bag just as quickly? Duh! ARE YOU LISTENING KATA? IS YOUR OWNER, MANFROTTO LISTENING? Now get this: After the bag arrived I found two loose straps inside the bag and cannot figure out what they are for. I sent another email to Kata asking what they were. That was last night. ANOTHER UNANSWERED EMAIL!!! KATA, ARE YOU LISTENING? All I want is just a little help with these two stray straps! That's all I wanted!!!! If they don't have enough staff to answer their simple questions within 24 hours, they need to get off their butts and hire some help!!!
