Bottom Line Its a Great Classic Knife and everyone should own at least 1.
This does come with a serviceable leather sheath, but if you're going to carry it, you owe it to yourself to pick up the KA-BAR #1216 Hard Knife Sheath for an extra $15-20 bucks.
Use: Survival, camping, hunting, and bushcraft. I'm not in the Army and am not pretending to be (hats off to those of you who do or have served, though! Thank you for what you do), so I'm likely not going to be using it for fighting. It's a 7" blade, so it's definitely not an every day carry knife, but it will be nice to have when I go hunting. I'm not going to use it for skinning or field dressing (I have other knives for that), but in a pinch it'll be nice to have in case I need to finish off an elk or chop some wood for shelter if I get lost.
Pros: Unbelievably sharp, sturdy, and comes with a really nice sheath made of thick leather.
Cons: mine came with a few dings to the finish...nothing too noticeable and the finish will fade over time as I use it anyway, but if I were a collector I imagine I might be a little upset.
This thing is big. Sheath isn't great, but if I wear it walking outside, I'll be stopped by the first cop who sees it. A real pig-sticker for the Zombie Apocalypse.
