Udon Stir-Fry Noodles

Udon Noodles are thick, white Japanese noodles. They can be eaten cold or hot. Udon Noodles are often served in a mild fish broth, flavored with soy sauce and mirin (sweetened sake) and topped with thinly sliced scallions.

Fish Sauce

Fish Sauce is an indispensable seasoning utilized in kitchens throughout Southeast Asia. It is used much in the same way soy sauce would be used in China or Japan.

Wide Lo Mein Noodles

These thick flat wheat noodles are traditional Chinese noodles. They perform well in soups as well as added to a vegetable stir-fry dish.

Sweet and Sour Sauce

Sweet and Sour Sauce is perhaps the classic Chinese sauce. We make KAME Sweet and Sour Sauce with a combination of rice vinegar and pineapple. Directions

Place this package of KA-ME thick udon noodles in 2 quart of lightly salted boiling water. When noodles rise to the top reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Place in colander and rinse under cold running water.

As a shellfish allergy sufferer, I can once again enjoy Ramen Noodles!

I love Ramen Noodles. I grew up eating Top Ramen brand noodles. They are inexpensive and easy to come by in stores. Unfortunately I developed a shellfish allergy later in life and every brand of Ramen Noodles I have seen in stores carries a shellfish and/or peanut allergy warning and I'm allergic to both.

I was delighted to find these Ka Me Noodles on Amazon. The ingredient list is super simple: Wheat Flour, Salt, Water, and Carotene added for color. The short ingredient list includes nothing that I am allergic to. I was a little apprehensive that they are made in a foreign country, but to my surprise I haven't had any problems.

I love drained Ramen Noodles, not in soup form. Each pack of noodles comes with two extremely long strips of noodles. I break the strips in half so I get four servings out of one pack of noodles. I cook them for 5 minutes in the microwave in a bowl of water and they come out just the way I like them, not too soggy.

My significant other prefers soggier noodles than I do, so he cooks his for seven minutes, also in the microwave. When the noodles come out of the microwave, I drain the noodles and then add a beef bouillon packet. We've been using Hormel Herb Ox Beef Bouillon Packets and they are perfect, no measuring involved.

As someone who's diet is very much limited by food allergies, I am always happy to find a new food. These noodles allow me to have one of my all time favorite foods, Ramen Noodles, without having to worry about having an allergic reaction.

Makes great ramen soup!

I'm a vegetarian and I used to buy the prepackaged vegetable ramen soups in those buy 12 for $1.00 deals while i was in college (well, maybe not that low, but I do recall $0.13/pkg on one sale day. The downside to them is they had too much stuff that I rather not ingest anymore.

"Chuka Soba" noodles are the real deal Ramen Noodles. They are just noodles. 1 bag can of these make 4 bowls of noodle soup with just broth or you can use any base that you want and throw anything you like into them.

One word of caution is, they aren't good for leftovers. Those noodles never stop sponging up the broth. So only make what you need. I put a 1/4 to a 1/3 of the noodles in a single package in a 2 quart pot of boiling water and they are done within about 3 minutes. I put the vegetarian-based bullion of my choice into water using a pyrex measuring cup and nuke it in the microwave till the water boils. Drain the noodles in a sieve and then flop the noodles and pour the broth into your soup bowl and you're done. Ramen soup is my fave when I have a cold or my IBS is flaring up (i.e., unlike it's processed counterpart, it's easy on the digestion).

These were hard to find, but part of that was my fault. I used to get them at the local grocery store and now no one carries them. Then, thanks to Google, I learned that another name, or rather the common name, for ramen noodles is Chuka or Chuka Soba and the picture for this item clearly depicts what we otherwise know here in the U.S. as ramen noodles.

I buy these noodles because they're the only noodles on amazon that are air dried (not fried) and don't have 1700mg of sodium per serving. They have a good texture and springiness, and taste pretty good given the lower sodium. My biggest problem is that here lately the packages have been half full of just crumbled ramen. All things considered I feel like I'm getting half of what I ordered since only around half of each package is edible. I'll keep buying it, because like I said it's my only option for now- but if the quality keeps declining I'll update my review with a lower rating.

These are pretty good for a Miso soup i make.
I can even do the entire thing in one bowl in the microwave! Make the soup, add the noodles and nuke it for 3 minutes on high.
Be careful taking it out, it will be extremely hot, remember it boiled for a few minutes.
Then let rest for another few minutes to cool to a comfortable temperature. By that point, the noodles are soft and yummy.

My recommendation is to break them apart before you add them. The noodles are gigantic and really hard to eat in one long piece.
So i break it up with my hands into something like 1-3" long strips.
If you like a lot of noodles. go for half of one of the noodle bricks. If you like a small amount, go for a quarter brick.

Definitely worth the cost, especially since i can make a good meal in 5 minutes in the microwave!

Not Thick Enough - And Too Short

They're not thick enough for their width, and they're way too short. Their length makes it seem as though someone intended them to be cooked in a very small stock pot (in Taiwan, where they're made, perhaps?).

If you don't add them to the cooking water one-by-one, they stick together. Two or three of them that are stuck together make for a bit of a surprise if they find their way into your mouth without you noticing. Crunch!
