Dawn Martens and Chantal Fernando are definitely a writing duo who have chemistry together. I rarely laugh out loud when reading a book, but I was laughing for most of this one. I won't lie, the first book was a little bit better -and only because Layla was a little less irritating than Nikki who seemed immature at times, but overall it was still a pretty good read.

I liked that Nikki was the one with commitment issues here as opposed to Kade, because it made her quite different to Layla (the heroine from the first book)and I really hate reading a series where all the female leads seem the same.

I do however have to admit that Nikki's character was confusing at times. She's portrayed as such a strong, stubborn, defiant person with a major anger management problem. She also fought long and hard against being with Kade, so I don't get why she stayed with him after he repeatedly implies that she's a liar(despite her love of running away at the drop of a hat). I also don't get why she put up with the antics of his best friend who completely disrespected her. I mean, when some chick calls your mother "trash", you punch her in the face.... then punch your boyfriend in the face for defending her....and then you get the hell out of the relationship - this didn't happen here. Just once, I would like to see a girl dump a guy because she has some self respect, as opposed to the usual "I found him in bed with another girl, but it was all a misunderstanding" scenario.

The story was still enjoyable however and I'm definitely itching to read James'book.

This was a good book and i did like it. However I liked the first book so much better. the psycho was just a bit much. I do not think a guy could be that stupid to put a friend before the one he love. So I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for that reason. I look forward to the other books.

I honestly wouldn't recommend this book. The 'resisting love' in the title tells you all you need to know. Guy wants girl, girl has been hurt and therefore won't be with the guy, then a bunch of pointless drama and they end up together. The characters were completely predictable and there was no depth to them. And the book seemed to be written by a teenager given the way the characters acted, talked and narrated their story. I wouldn't waste my money on this book and wish I could get a refund.

3.5 stars

This is book #2 in this series. It's not a must to read book 1, Chase's story but a lot happens in book 1 that comes up in this book so it's best that you do. The story backs up some and has a small amount of repeat from book one, but from Nikki's and Kade's POV so it's not totally a repeat.

I like the writing and I have to say I enjoy this author, but the story isn't very deep and once again the only "problems/drama" in this book is other females. I was hoping the story line would have a little more depth to it, then just another female wanting your man.

I have to say, as much as Kade is a strong possessive alpha male, I didn't like him as much as Chase.

I read Chase first, and I think I rated it 3 stars but barely. I am very pleased to report that Kade IMHO was a much better read. It flowed better, and I liked the heroine a whole lot better.

Kade is the brother to Chase, and he was one of the roommates in book 1. A side note is that you could probably read book 2 here without reading book 1, but I'm sorry to say there are a whole lot of tie-ins and jokes, so in this case it would be a lot better to read book 1 first, despite it being not as good. Anyway, Nikki, best friend to Layla of book 1, has what she thinks is a one-night stand with Kade, who is pretty much as much of a player as his brother was. But Nikki is startled to find out that Kade wants a whole lot more with her and pursues her. She holds off for a long while due to a past hurt but finally gives in, only to be tormented by Kade's friend Ashley (also in book 1). He thinks of Ashley as just a friend, but she doesn't feel the same and is determined to break them up no matter what. Everyone around except for Kade can clearly see this, but he is totally blind. That is the major plot line all the way through, so if that is going to set you off, this might not be the book for you.

What I liked about this one over book 1 is that Nikki is extremely mature compared to Layla. Throughout the whole thing, she behaves pretty calmly, the exceptions being when one of her friends or family is being trashed. Nikki is also a lot more lighthearted, and Kade is also, so there are some hilarious scenes in this book, and the banter is awesome. This one was 3.5 to 3.75 stars really, rounded on up to 4 stars just because I loved the characters in this one. Very enjoyable read.

It was nothing new. I did not like that he just gave up and went to find another woman. I agree with the heroine that if you say that one woman is it for you, you do not just give up after a month or so and find a willing woman to bed. I felt so bad for her that she had to come in on that. Also, wow! He was unbelievable when it came to trusting the other woman first. That was just awful and I am glad she made him sweat it out and did not take him back right away. I did not like Ryder because of what he did to his own heroine in this book. I hope he fixes it well in his own book.
