As you can see from the photo, I basically ordered every single similar bag to this one that I could find on Amazon and the Kah & Kee was the winner. I needed a bag that would work as a carryon, hand bag, and work bag for a recent trip to China/Thailand/Japan. This bag stands out because the quality of the canvas is superior to the others I ordered. I knew it would withstand rain (rainy season in Thailand) and could be tussled around on trains and buses. The straps are padded, but the real key are the pockets!! It has a zippered pocket that sits on the middle of your back when on and I used this pocket to hold my passport and money without fear of being pickpocketed. There is a small zipper also facing the back where I put my cell phone in and had easy access to my phone for pictures but didn't worry about losing my phone! There is one last zipper from the back that has access to the enter inside of the bag. This was great because I kept my hotspot in there but didn't have to unpack everything in my bag just to turn the hotspot on.
The top entry to the backpack opens fairly wide! I stashed my 12.5 inch laptop, liquids pack, one outfit, snacks, meds, chapstick, scarf, hotspot and the topped closed easily. Shout out to the zippers on this bag too because there were several overpacking scenarios towards the end of my trip where the zipper could have busted at the seam but didn't
The outside pocket of the backpack is pretty deep and I was able to keep my tissues and travel urination stick seperate from all my other items (thank the lord!).
I rated at 5 stars because this bag was a life saver for my months long teaching trip. I would like to give some feedback though that it's not as cute as some of the other Amazon offerings and could benefit from gold colored zippers or trim. But the utility of the bag makes up for it!
