Kaleidoscope: 20 Stories Celebrating Women's Magazine Fiction Paperback – March 7, 2017
|New from||Used from|
Ellyn Bache brings us news of the spirit, a rare thing--and entertains us as well. She does all this in the liveliest, clearest, most engaging prose style imaginable. Bache writes straight from the heart, people her pages with characters you will never forget --Lee Smith, author of Fair and Tender Ladies --Review of The Art of Saying Goodbye
Surprisingly good...Kaleidoscope will cure some readers of their stereotypes about women's magazines.The stories here rarely turn dark, but they almost never sink into mere formula.... They also turn out to be surprisingly contemporary. Kaleidoscope illustrates a modern paradox. This should be a golden age for the short story; people have too many distractions,so the short form should be ideal. These days, however, there are fewer and fewer outlets printing them. Bache's collection shows us why attention should still be paid. --Wilmington (NC) Star-News
