UPDATE: I should have mentioned something about WHY this was such a good story - e.g., what it was about. It tells the story of a young woman who travels with the USO during WWII to entertain our troops at war, both in Europe and the South Pacific. This was really fascinating, and provided a look behind the scenes concerning the conditions in which these very selfless entertainers lived and traveled, often placing themselves in danger. If you have an interest in American life during this period of time, you should enjoy this book.
It's about a talented singer and dancer who grew in the 1930's and performed for the USO during World War II. Her travels took her all over the world. Her experiences were exciting and sometimes dangerous. I highly recommend this book!!
