Tuskett, California, population twenty-three received a visitor shambling through the desert dressed in black. Anyone who encountered him knew that he was trouble. During the course of one apocalyptic night, the population of Tuskett declined due to Kane. No one knew who he was, but they knew he was out to make Tuskett a ghost town.
Kane is a well-written novel filled with real, flesh-and-blood characters that readers will care about. The night that the novel takes place is an agonizingly suspenseful experience. This is one of the trademarks of a Michael Prescott novel. I, for one, hope that he will continue to re-issue his earlier books into the Kindle format so we can read his entire canon. Michael Prescott is one of my "can't miss" authors. When I see a new book of his, I instinctively click on purchase. Hopefully, you will too. Well done, Mr Borton...or Harper...or Prescott, whoever you are! Thank you for a shivery reading experience!
If you enjoy "chillers" and "thrillers" in the likes of King & Koontz, you came to the right place.
I couldn't put this book down, I hope it doesn't haunt my dreams...
If this introduces you to Michael Prescott, you are in for a wonderful ride.
Read "Kane" and you will want more.
Enjoy: Boston Bob
Prescott did a good job. Regardless of where people try to hide, Kane will find them and then you will hear creaks, footsteps, weapons appearing through holes in the wall, the toll of a bell through the silence.............I am SO glad I have finished this book. Those with overactive imaginations, read at your own risk!
Kane chilled me to the bone! I was swept in by the first paragraph and started my relationship with the people in this tiny town. There were times when I was telling the characters out loud to run and hide! (my kids got a laugh out of that).
I don't talk about the premise of the book since you can read that above, but the heart-pumping, hair standing on the back of your neck, looking over your shoulder feeling has yet to go away. I started another book and I keep expecting to have Kane pop up in that book! Michael Prescott has done it again and this is definitely a must read! I'd tell you to keep the lights on...but they won't help, not with Kane on the loose!
I loved it and have already recommended Kane to everyone I know! Ready for the next book!

I couldn't read this book straight through because it made me nervous; I had to read a couple of paragraphs, put the book down, do something else, and then start again. It took me 6 days to finish this because it was so chilling.
The characters were simple people in a has-been town; then Kane arrived and the purposeful, methodical pursuit was on. The chase was slow and vivid as Kane carried out his mission and closed in on his prey, one by one. Frightening and scary......like I said, had to constantly put it down and breathe.
Character development was good, the scenes were described in chilling detail and the conclusion left a little to the imagination. Good book, glad Mr. Prescott took it off the shelf and brought it back for 2014!
