I've been using these a lot more often than I thought I would. I have no idea why people say they break easily--they're sturdy enough, but it's glass, not Pyrex--if I'd dropped one on a hard floor, I'd blame myself, not the manufacturer. I bought them because I always need bowls of different sizes, but here's what I've started doing:
I store leftover food in the fridge, then I put the storage bowl into another one, the next size up (paper towel in between so it's not clattering), and pop it in the microwave. The extra bowl makes sure I don't burn my fingers when taking it out, and then I'm eating straight out of the bowl.
So.. it's practical, saves time, I don't have to do so many dishes, but it's not like eating out of a plastic container.
That way, the single lifestyle retains a teeny bit of class :)

I like the bowls very much but the largest one has a large chip on the edge. I don't believe the bowl was chipped by the shipper since the bowls were packed in three boxes each much larger than the prior one with lots of packing materials around the sides. I think large bowl was chipped by the manufacturer in the original box in which it was packed. I am not returning the bowls because of the extreme weight of the 10 glass bowls and the size of the largest box makes it impossible for me to handle. The bowls were a good buy even with one chipped.
