An underrated entry in the great Karate Kid trilogy

Karate Kid 3 is strangely disliked. I never really understood it personally. I think it comes very close to the greatness of the first 2. The only reason I dont give it a 5 is because the end fight isnt very good. It portrays Daniel as not very good at Karate and isnt able to handle his opponent which doesn`t make sense considering how well he did in the fight at the end of part 2 with an opponent who was even more vicious. Other than that I think its a solid conclusion to one of the greatest on screen friendships in movie history. Thomas Ian Griffith is great and steals every scene he`s in as the head villain of the movie as well.

It's definitely a BDR

The Blu-ray is in fact a BDR as they said it would be. The movie looks alright. I guess it's HD. There is no menu on the disc. If you press the pop-up menu on your remote you can watch trailers to all 3 of the original Karate Kid movies. Other than that there's no special features or commentaries that I can see. The case is alright but I feel like it was printed kind of poorly. The writing is a little blurry. It's easy to read but if I didn't know better, I'd think I bought a bootleg Blu-ray. Which is why manufacturer on demand BDR seems like a bad idea to me. I really wanted Part 3 on Blu-ray to go with my 1 & 2 box set Blu-ray. 3 is my personal favorite. I will never understand why anyone wouldn't like it if you like the others. I just ordered the German import of this which is a real Blu-ray I hear. So, when that comes in, I may come back & edit my review here to reflect the comparison of the 2.

I have the original & part 2. I actually like this one better than part 2. It has some awesome training scenes in it. I'm a big fan of this movie series & this one completes my set!

the first film was an emotional classic. the second was a misstep in japan. this third film had a good idea to return to the original cast, but the supporting acting is over-the-top awful. and frankly, ralph macchio seemed hyper and overly verbose, often repeating his lines and stepping on his female co-actors lines; no chemistry. this whole film needs a re-edit with trimming.

The Karate Kid and Macchio make movie number three. I don't think it is quite as good as the other two movies. Their devotion is still strong and the Kid has more to learn about life.
