I seldom have to worry about freezing temps outdoors, but my washer sits outdoors in intense heat for many months of the year. I like knowing that the internal parts are sitting in a protective solution to help prevent cracked seals and rings.
When I use it, I detach the high pressure hose and then I just attach the bottle to the water intake. I give the bottle a little squeeze until the fluid appear at the high pressure output. It's blue so you can tell when that happens. Then I pull the rope starter a few time with the ignition off to get the fluid splashed around internally. At that point, I'm done. I've used maybe 1/5 of the bottle and my expensive pump is protected.
This is good stuff for your washer at a reasonable price.
Easy enough to use. First shut of the washer. Remove the water connections (inlet and outlet). Pull the engine start handle a couple of times, to force the pump to dispel accumulated water. Stick in the Kacher Lube bottle to the water source connection and pull start handle another couple of time until the liquid flows out freely. One bottle should last a couple of seasons. Note that the B & Stratton product wil last more than double this.
Been using it for years.
Even with that mistake the pressure washer only sucked in about a quarter of the bottle. Next time I'll try it with the spark plug in and throttle off and see if that works better.
Note: The bottle I received did not have the black valve shown in the picture. However, there is a valve inside the cap. It is just a rubber disc with an X cut. Crude, but effective. I think the real purpose is just so that you don't spill it all out when you tip the bottle sideways to attach it to the pressure washer.
