About Karen Householder
I was born in a small, small, town in Oklahoma and lived in eight of the fifty states before calling Knoxville, Tennessee home eleven years ago. As the mother of three teenagers, I devoted most of my time to family life with a hobby in home improvements. After running out of walls to paint and bathrooms to tile, my husband encouraged me to write a story. As an avid reader with a passion for writing and a desire to be challenged, I discovered the only thing better than reading about a fictional world is creating one.
When I’m not writing for the next book in the Magestic Dreams Trilogy, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing cards with “the girls”, and hanging out on the boat. I love scary movies, chocolate covered strawberries, and I think Twizzlers are a healthy snack because they’re low-fat. When I grow up, I want to be a pirate and live on a boat in the Caribbean with my husband of 24 years. We’ll sing Jimmy Buffet songs and nibble on fresh fruit while the deck hands…er, I mean grandkids dance on the bow. Then, at the end of the day, we’ll count our blessings as we watch the sun slowly melt down the sky and disappear into the sea.
"I do not seek out death, but I do not fear it... neither does my master."
The massive storm that blew Simon in from The City of Darkness is hovering over the state of Maine, and the nearby communities are reeling as they search for a local teen that has gone missing.
Daemarius has ripped Emma away from those she loves and twisted her mind with a powerful spell. Though her heart fights against it, he has fooled her into believing that ruling The House of Dark alongside her master is her destiny.
Having failed in his attempt to protect Emma, Mark has something to prove as he is welcomed into the League of Guardians, unskilled, untrained, and unprepared.
Will he be able to put the mistakes of his past behind him and work with Simon to bring Emma back to the light? Or will Daemarius find the one Hopeful that will entice Emma into betraying her love for Simon, thus, dissolving her ties to Magestic and bringing darkness to the world forever?
“In fairytales, frogs turn into princes, little boys never have to grow up, and ordinary girls become extraordinary with the wave of a wand.
But this is not a fairytale.”
By refusing to accept her untimely death, Emma’s “earthly” family and friends have unknowingly pulled her back from Magestic and into a world in which she doesn’t belong. Though her memories are vague and dreamlike at best, she knows what she must do—stay alive. Without her Guardian, Simon, this is no simple task.
Sheltering her friendship with Sarah and working to master her clumsy and disastrous powers, all while keeping up her GPA as a seemingly ordinary senior at Greenville High, isn’t easy either. But when Mark returns from his summer in Alaska with a newfound need to protect her, things get really complicated. He seems to have picked up a few of Simon’s characteristics, and when he appears as the main event in her dreams, she realizes it is more than just coincidence.
As Emma struggles to balance the light and darkness she discovers within herself, she begins to understand the legend of Princess Magdon; Peace and harmony, and death and destruction shall rest delicately on her fingertips. And when the King’s secret is finally revealed, she is left with one question: Will she be the one to save the universe, or destroy it?
Los Angeles teenager Emma McKenzie is on her way to Maine to live with her birth father for the first time. Years of terrifying nightmares and dreams of a magical land she calls “Magestic” can hardly prepare Emma for the truth she uncovers in Greenville. Emma is much more than your average 16-year-old struggling to fit in at a new school. In fact, she is far from normal. And so is Simon, the mysterious and handsome boy from the nearby Inn she falls in love with. As Emma gets to know her father and stepmother, and befriends local teens Mark, Sarah, and Sam, she is shocked to discover she has some rather unique abilities which may be put to the test to save Magestic. What Emma doesn’t realize is that to save the world of her dreams, she may have to give up the one person she can’t live without.
