Editorial Reviews

Filmed in high definition at London's renowned O2 Arena on December 15th 2011, this is Kasabian's first stand alone Blu-Ray release. The show came on the back of the band's No.1 album Velociraptor! and the setlist combines tracks from that album with hits and classic album tracks from across their career so far. The concert was part of a sold out arena tour that covered the UK and Ireland at the end of last year. Kasabian are the recipients of numerous awards for Best Live Band and Best British Band in recent years and this new show with its spectacular and innovative staging will be a must have for their huge and dedicated fanbase. / Bonus Features: I Hear Voices documentary following Kasabian on tour around the UK and Ireland in 2011. / Track Listing: 1) Days Are Forgotten 2) Shoot The Runner 3) Velociraptor! 4) Underdog 5) Where Did All The Love Go? 6) I.D. 7) I Hear Voices 8) Thick As Thieves 9) Take Aim 10) Clubfoot 11) Re-Wired 12) Empire 13) La Fée Verte 14) Fast Fuse / Pulp Fiction 15) Goodbye Kiss 16) L.S.F. 17) Switchblade Smiles 18) Vlad The Impaler 19) Fire

This DVD is great. It especially shows off the strength of the West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Assylum songs. Too bad more people in the US don't know about this amazing band (as well as a bunch of other great Brit bands)...

Seen this amazing live band several times, most recently in April at Coachella and in L.A. Both shows for crowds in the small thousands compared to what they play to overseas. I do not understand how they cannot be bigger here in the States! Guess I can't complain seeing them in such an intimate setting, though. This DVD is how they are meant to be seen, sold out at London's O2 Arena, full production and spectacle. Such an amazing live band! Buy this and turn up the stereo system...to 11!

I really enjoyed the dolby 5.1 of this... it really makes you wanna test your equipment more and more. I can assure you are going to play it many many times, so more than a movie its a record for ever. Thank god they are selling cool artist blue-ray now, because it was full of really old taste bluray discs all these last years.

Kasabian have come a long way since their debut album was released in 2004 where they were usually the opening band on the 2nd stage at numerous festivals and were labelled as Oasis and Stone Roses rip offs, since that time they have gone to festival headliners as well as playing to sold out arenas across the U.K and Europe as well as releasing 3 more diverse albums. The most recent of which was 2011's "Velociraptor" which is the tour this Blu-Ray covers from their sold out show at London's O2 arena from December of 2011.

If you happened to catch any of those shows then you will be familiar with the set list as well as the amazing light show and back lit LED screen that the band used for the tour. Staring off with "Days are Forgotten" which begins with all the band on the stage with the exception of lead singer Tom Meighan who sings into a camera behind the stage and a 3D digitalised image of Meighan singing is transported over the stage. The band tear through tracks from all 4 studio albums and just as they bring the pace down around the half way mark they kick into "Club Foot" which sends the O2 into pandemonium.

There is a rousing rendition of L.S.F to close the main set before they return with a fantastic triple onslaught of tracks beginning with the electro heavy "Switchblade Smiles" with its heavy beats and industrial sounding guitars and big sounding bass, it's bold and brave but they pull it off brilliantly. "Vlad The impaler" is then followed by the nine minute long sing along "Fire". It's safe to say the crowd go home happy.

Also included is a half hour documentary that follows Kasabian on their U.K and Ireland tour as well as a look at the coming together of the big production that the band wanted for this tour.

Brings the stadium experience to life in beautiful HD and DTS-HD master audio. I watched the extra documentary footage first that details their life on the road and shows leading up to London last December. Some awesome behind the scenes footage and show footage.

I was not the biggest fan of Velociraptor when it dropped, but after thorough listening and seeing this show live in blu-Ray, it makes sense. Quite simply as Serge puts it, "futuristic rock". A lot from Velociraptor with plenty of previous album material. Check the closing of fire, Tom absolutely goes manic slamming the mic down...epic.

If it's still $11.99 and your any level of fan, do yourself a favor and get one on the way before they smarten up and charge more.
