The Pro-Light Access-14 PL is a multi-featured professional holster designed to provide the best carrying, storage and working solutions. Lightweight and Protective it will cater to the smallest detail of a professional's working needs. A specially formed foam encased spring steel Spine guard runs down the front of the bag for ultimate structural protection. Light yet durable RipStop fabrics & meshes, Aeriform foams and Spider Webbing straps all join together to create a protective and light holster, and the fantastic modularity allows you to make it even lighter by simply removing components that are not necessary for your everyday work. In true holster fashion the Access provides rapid "pull to shoot" opening to a main compartment that holds a small to medium DSLR with a 16-35 lens attached. Large and small side pockets enjoy a low profile/high capacity design and will hold additional lenses, flash or other accessories by simply utilizing the internal space left on both sides of the main camera and lens set-up. When needed the bag can be elongated by unzipping a bottom extension (please note that the extension is not padded and hence extra caution is advised when this is in use). This includes: Double-sided Elements Cover for protection in all weather and environment conditions come rain or sunshine. GSS Gecko Shoulder Strap and belt connection slot.

-comfortable, well-designed strap
-comes with a rain shield
-buckles and zippers on top keep camera secure but take an extra second or two to get open
UPDATE: After a year of use, this bag is still holding up well. Unfortunately, the zipper on the front pouch has stopped working and now won't close (the teeth are very fine and don't seem to want to hold together anymore when you zip them up). It's kind of silly because the pocket is uselessly small and essentially only holds this narrow foam insert for structural support.
The design of this bag carries on the Kata tradition of well-used and thought out compartments and safety. My Nikon D7100 with a 200mm lens fits snug enough to make me feel comfortable, yet leaves me some room. The 300mm is no sweat either given the bottom of the bag unzips to expand. The side pockets leave room for a spare lens or flash as well as charger and a spare battery.
Something I noted while exploring camera bags was the number of people who found the way the strap attaches to be less than desirable. The hefty strap on this bag clips securely to metal attachment rings - METAL - and has the most comfortable padding I have ever used. If carrying on your shoulders isn't your thing, then there are belt loops through which you can strap this to your hip. Next week, I will be shooting the Dopey Challenge and have no doubt this will work fine. As a thought, I will probably use a heavier belt, maybe like those designed for police or military to carry it so I don't stretch out my dress belts. I already have an Uncle Mike's Operator Belt and it will work perfectly. 5 11 Tactical Operator 4 Inch Black
You won't be disappointed in this product so long as you understand it doesn't float along side you, take pictures for you, and you don't plan on trying to pack a telescope. It met all realistic expectations with a few nice surprises.
