Reviews of Bury Me Under a Lilac
By Jordi Villasante on June 25, 2018
Format: Paperback
Bury Me Under a Lilac is a book that creates consciousness. I loved the poems, and the way they are written is brilliant!

Katherine has an incredible ability to harness and expose the emotions that all of us might be too afraid to share. She's soon going to be everyone's next favorite poet.

Reviews of Poems from the Battlefield
By Kayne Karnbach on May 1, 2012
Format: Paperback
Whether you care for Civil War history or not, you will still enjoy this book. Through her poetry, Gotthardt exposes the less often explored sides of war and in particular the individual struggles faced by those who went to war. If you happen to live in the Manassas area, or have experienced the battlefield, you will relate to the conflicts that the present day Northern Virginia lifestyle bring to the peace and serenity of the battlefield.

By J. Forte on July 25, 2013
Format: Paperback
Battlefields are holy grounds, and Katherine Mercurio Gotthardt's POEMS FROM THE BATTLEFIELD, deftly evokes the thought-provoking emotion that permeated the spirit of those who fought, witnessed, and waited during the first and second Battles of Manassas. (Battles of Bull Run) What the book is not is a dreamy walk through history. One-hundred and fifty years later, Gotthardt captures the fog of war,the fear, the agony and the perpetual consequences of America's most shameful and devastating war. A must-read!

Few poetry collections to date can compare! Soft music and an armchair before a fire, a wind-sweept hillock in the early autumn breeze - WHEREVER - If you enjoy the privilege of letting your mind wander to far-off places and times, this is a book you will love to read, over and over again! I can not recommend it enough.

Reviews of Furbily-Furld Takes on the World
By Amazon Customer on March 25, 2011
Format: Paperback
What a beautiful story and a beautiful book! I bought one for each of my children and they love the pictures and talking about Furbily and how he left his home because the people moved in, how sad he was, and the happy ending (which I won't give away!). When I had my house built years ago, most of the trees on the lot were taken down. I visited the lot the following weekend and saw the most beautiful furry critter, scared, holding onto the tree trunk... its eyes looking at me. I had his home destroyed, I realized. I'll never forget that moment. This book reminded me so much of my own experience; because of the new subdivision moving in, the "Furbily-Furlds" were displaced. This book teaches a valuable lesson to children... and adults, too. I highly recommend it and hope there are more Furbily-Furld books to come!

Read with your child and later explain the more intricate message behind the tale. It is a book of many levels. Well done!

Reviews of Approaching Felonias Park
"Katherine's fictional portrayal of the real predator high-interest loan system that exists is an important read. It should raise awareness of this continuing problem but Approaching Felonias Park also shows Katherine's writing talent that should not be missed!" -C.J. Tovarich, Author, Editor
♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠
"Katherine Mercurio Gotthardt is passionate about helping the less fortunate. Not only is she a gifted poet through her Poems from the Battlefield, but now she has proven herself capable of assembing a cast of gritty, memorable characters to effectively expose a little known trap in our society that ensures generationaly poverty. This short novel is a quick read but the inequity it exposes will stay with you." -Nancy S. Kyme, Author, Memory Lake
♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠♠
"...is sprinkled with humor without trivializing the serious themes addressed. Jezabel is a real person with real problems...it is unusual for a novel to be written from the point of view of a young woman who's living on the edge, emotionally and financially." -Bette Hileman, Author, Editor

Blog postA fellow writer, Nate from Write by the Rails, posted a thought-provoking piece about how he is once again giving a damn about his blog. Turns out, analytics had gotten him down, discouraging him from writing. So he stopped writing quality content. This is the kind of (dis)empowering force analytics can have. When numbers are…
