About Kathryn Collins
Dr. Collins graduated from Stanford Medical School in 1977, received specialty training in emergency medicine at Denver Health Medical Center, and practiced medicine as an ER doctor for 30 years before transitioning to her current role as an author, speaker and healthy lifestyle activist. She's a member of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and a lifetime fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She was included in the Consumers' Research Council of America's "Guide to America's Top Emergency Medicine Physicians" in 2009. She has nurtured a lifelong passion for prevention, wellness, and health, and in 1983, she co-authored the book, "The Outdoor Woman's Guide to Sports, Fitness and Nutrition." She has been trained in diet and lifestyle medicine through The Wellness Forum Institute. "How Healthy Is Your Doctor?" is the first in a series of How Healthy Books; it explains why your health isn't up to doctors, the health-care system, or your genes--it's mostly up to you, and the diet and lifestyle choices you make every day.
