Right off the bat, you need to know you shouldn't start this series with this book, even though it could stand alone. I came across the first book, Kennedy in Denver, and thought it excellent. As was the second. Both featured heroines who had to act to get themselves out of horrible situations not of their own making. Katie in Denver relies [perhaps too much?] on the first two books to set the scene for Katie's story.

K here isn't as resourceful. And, as a couple of other readers mention, the editing took a dive. However, I (a guy) will totally admit to liking this series of romances enough to want to read the next, should there be one.

My disclaimer: I don't know the author, I wasn't asked to review it, and I did buy it.

At 64% I was asking myself why was continuing to torture myself by TRYING to finish this book. Literally I was giving myself a headache. I don't even know how I can tell you all the things wrong with is book. Just to hit on a few.....the writing. It's not good. There is no way this book passed through an editor's hands. It is just that bad. Then then there are the characters who pretty much get their own chapters, as in their POV, and that just rarely works out well. This book got out of control. That's another reason an editor is needed. Someone to get this book back on track. Time just jumped all over the place. I honest felt like the 10 years they spent apart turned into 15 by the time I had to bail out for health reasons.....the headache I was getting. I think possibly this could have been a good read, but the author didn't know how to pull it off. The writing, the dialogue, their behavior, it was just so off. They spoke and thought like robots. The only contraction I can recall reading is the word didn't, and this was only once. Every character's behavior was just ridiculous and OTT crazy train. This book needs an overhaul in the worst possible way.

Let me preface this by saying that I am a grammar fanatic, so it was difficult to get through this book. I'll offer my services to the author for the next books she writes, because really, the story itself was really good. I enjoyed the relationship between Katie and Michael. It was deep and passion filled and also angst ridden, because what teenage relationship isn't?? I would have loved to give it more stars because I did enjoy the story. But the grammar really took it down a notch.

This book was a very hard read, it did not flow well and the time jump was not well detailed and explained. I liked the backstory of the characters and I felt the hurt and disappointment when they went in different directions but when they come back together I just didn't connect with them. This story has a HEA and the story as a whole is great but I felt the author just didn't let the story play out on the pages very well.

Katie and Michael are the third couple to get a book in the In Denver Series. All the characters from previous books return here just not in as much detail. Katie and Michael have their own little world to deal with. Being high school sweethearts give them a history that must go over again before they can continue their relationship currently. Told in multiple POV, the story is given to the reader in many different ways. With this multiple POV going on, some scenes are reiterated multiple times which can get a little tiresome and boring. Scenery description is not very detailed. Characters are all well developed and likeable. Story has some twists and turns to it. Build up between characters worked very well.

This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone and does have an HEA.

This is Katie and Michael's story. Katie and Michael met when they were teenagers. They were together for a long time and things start to change between Michael and Katie. Michael leaves to go to school in a different state and when Estelle and Rhydian run into Katie and a little boy they knew instantly that the little boy was Michael's son. When Michael found out that Katie kept his son away from him he wasn't happy. Katie and Michael decide that they are going to be friends for the sake of MJ.
Katie is MJ's mother, she had MJ at the age of 16. She is know a teacher. She still has feelings for Michael. Michael has been treated for bi-polar disorder. He has never stopped loving Katie. Elena is Michael's mother, she is very sweet. Shamus is Michael's father, very protective of his family.
This book is the third book in the In Denver Series. This book is very well written and the characters are very well developed. I couldn't help but feel very connected to the characters in this story. It had me hooked from the first page. I look forward to reading more books by R. Colora.
