Josie's husband Jim is violent. Within only hours of arrival, he threatens to shoot anyone that comes on his property, even though in the past all three couples shared the properties. Can the others get Jim to see reason?
Other than the premise, there was nothing good about this story. It didn't flow well, and the characters didn't make sense. For instance, in the first scene, Katie is screaming that she will never remarry. But in the never next scene she's getting hitched, with no explanation as to what changed her mind. And then after only a couple hours, she's head over heels in love with Jason. Seems a bit fast. Then Josie, who's clearly marries a violent brute, defends Jim's actions and is in love with him immediately. Really? After he threatened to kill her friends?
Additionally, this book ends on a cliff hanger. There is zero resolution of the plot. If you want to know what happens, you have to pay $9 for all three kindle books. But between the horrible characters, disturbing, jerky plot, and tons of grammatical errors, it's just not worth it. I manages to download all three books for free, but considering how bad this first book was, I won't be reading the last two, even though they were free. Not worth my time. I will be deleting the books from my device and will not be buying any more books from this author.
Then there is Jim and Jose, Jim comes across mean to his neighbors and worry about Jose. The ladies have all shared one stable/barn that is what their old husbands use to do and it is behind Jose's house. Jim gets mad when Jason comes over to get a horse and throws him off his land. He doesn't care of Katie either and makes it known. Poor Jose tries and keeps the peace.
Hannah and Peter are the last to get married and hold up inside her house. No one really knows what is wrong with Peter but he is older and can't help any one with much at all. Hannah defends him.
Katie knows there is something going on with the other two couples and tries to figure it out. There is not ending to this story as the author leaves it so you have to get book 2 and the rest of the series seem to be the same way. This story will leave you in limber mode.
Over all I enjoyed the story, Jim is a bit weird and Jason about had a heart attack when Katie wanted to get his things from his trunk. The men act weird to some point and Katie is going to drive every crazy finding out.
I thought I would enjoy this book a lot more. I didn't really like any of the characters and totally agreed with Katie. Jim was just ludicrous and I can't ever imagine something that would make it forgivable for his attitude and manner. I guess we will see his story in the next one.
