We got this trike for our 2 1/2 year old son and he absolutely loves it. When looking into this trike I was a little concerned that it looked like a lot of plastic but it is a very rugged trike. Very heavy duty! And it was a breeze to put together! Didnt even need to look at the manual. My 2 year old doesnt want to leave it alone and my 1 year old is trying to convince us that he is big enough for it so I would say it is a big hit at our house.

Pros: Rugged construction with heavy duty frame, kids absolutely love the "real" motorcycle look, stable, durable.

Cons: Misaligned head set bracket (combined with my assembly error) eventually resulted in head set bushing failure.

I bought this trike for a friend who works at a preschool. If the children at this school can't destroy something, it can't be destroyed. They did succeed, after the most intense year of use you can imagine, to break the head set bushings. I called customer service (mentioned in another review) to see if I could buy new head set bushings. Customer service didn't hesitate. They took my name and address, then sent me the new parts at no charge. The guy at customer service suggested that I might have over tightened the head set bolt. He may have been right as I'll explain below. I had the new parts within a few days.

The broken headset bushings were not entirely at fault. The lower head set bracket on the forks was slightly misaligned. The first time I assembled the trike I attempted to align the bracket by over tightening the head set bolt. The plastic head set bushings eventually failed from the trike being hammered into every object (moveable or immoveable) on the playground, and the excess pressure on the plastic bushings. When I received the new bushings, I took the time to bend and realign the lower head set bracket. This time I only tightened the head set bolt to where is was just snug. So, with a minimum of effort, excellent customer service from the distributor, and some free replacement parts, the Kawasaki Trike is back in service joyfully taking a beating again.

The Kid loved this trike, but after just over a week it broke. He was riding along, pedaled backward kicking in the free wheel, and when he went to pedal forward again the pedals just spun without moving the wheel. Amazon was great and got a replacement out to us within 3 days, but again, with just over a week's use the second trike broke in exactly the same way as the first.

The Trike looks great and it worked well out in the yard (while it worked), but the shock is completely non-functional for the size of kids that are going use this trike.

After two trikes breaking Amazon is done sending replacements, and I totally understand that, but I'm super disappointed in the product

My 3 year old could definitely not peddle this bike. I really like the heavy duty tires, but it makes it so heavy!

I will describe my experience in chronological order.
First the assembly, then the usage.

Maybe the worst manual I've seen this year.

1) some parts are wrong. For example it tells you to hammer on the rear axle cap C1 when it is a screw on nut.

2) some parts are not clear or helpful. For example, the rear wheel plastic spacer C3/D2 can go on the axle two different ways and it does not tell you which way you should use. It does matter.

3) it never tells you when to attach the front fender. If you follow the manual and wait until the end, you will have to remove the front fork again.

4) washer C2 is never mentioned.

As for the product itself, there is a lot of drag and my child keeps asking me to push her. She rides her other trike enthusiastically.

The seat is very poorly designed. The user ends up pushing herself backwards as she petals and has to use her hands and arm strength to keep from shifting. The seat should have a back to prevent this. But real gas powered motorcycles have this kind of seat and Kawasaki seems to have slavishly copied the seat design without regard for practicality.

The seat has a handle at the back which looks like it would be convenient for carrying the entire trike. I hope you have lots of calluses because the underside of that handle doesn't feel good at all. Just another example of how carelessly this trike is designed.

As others have said, the shock is a joke and not functional. Another example of looks that don't work.

I would add that on the trike I received, they have changed the front wheel and pedal connection to a square hole which seems intended to be more sturdy and less likely to break and spin free. I wish I could be confident that they solved this problem correctly because the rest of the trike does not leave me feeling good.

Overall, this toy looks great but doesn't function.

I purchased this as a gift for my mother to give my nephew (her grandson). I put it together, which was interesting. The instructions don't make sense, so don't rely on them too much. Look at the pictures and use your common sense and you should be fine, but this does take at least 20 minutes to put together. I would recommend assembling this BEFORE giving it to a child - what kid wants to wait, and wait and wait until you get it put together? The 3year grandson absolutely loved it! He didn't use the pedals, instead he just push on the ground with his feet and was happy as a clam. I would recommend this - even with the assembly difficulties it is a great trike.
