Kaytee Gravity Bin Feeder with Bracket, Colors Vary
Top customer reviews
Seriously I think they enjoy doing it. But yeah, this feeder holds a lot of food, and since it's injection molded there are no sharp edges for them to hurt themselves on. I can leave them for a whole weekend and know they will have enough food, which is great. I highly recommend this feeder, it's well worth the extra couple of bucks.
Fangarang the food throwing oinkerpig gives it two squeals up.
At first she had trouble connecting the feeder to the C&C cage. Luckily the mounting brace is flexible. She was able to have the feeder inside the cage and the mounting brace on the outside. The feeder has a small guide rail on each side for the mounting bracket to slide on and firmly attach to. It’s great that there are two ways to mount it since we weren’t that keen on cutting a hole in the cage. The feeder is pretty much wedged in so that it doesn’t move around easily. It also came with a screw and two plastic circular parts for mounting it on horizontal barred cages, I would guess, of which we have no use for so they sit in my drawer waiting to be used to other projects. We haven't noticed if they tried to even bother chewing on it and haven't seen any chew marks on it so it's holding up nicely. It's a plus that there are holes at the bottom of the trough for the pellet dust to fall through though sometimes we do need to give it a bit of a shake to get all the dust down.
Overall this product is working out very well for us and her guinea pigs.
I was concerned with this being placed inside the cage because our bunny loves to chew everything & knock stuff down, but she hasn't messed with it at all & has no problems eating out of it.
We buy her the deluxe food w/ extra little stuff in it & it hasn't clogged up or anything.
The only issue we had was the mounting to keep it still & not all loose. It comes with a screw & the two plastic circular parts to hold it against the cage, but you need a screw driver & it doesn't hold tight enough.
So we just decided to add some zip ties to it, along with the mounting it came with, & it's perfect! I recommend doing the same to keep it in place & you shouldn't have any problems.
