However, i've noticed in the past year that they've changed the recipe and not for the better. Seems they've eliminated the good stuff and are throwing in pieces that birds won't even touch. I can't help but wonder if it's a way to cut cost for Kaytee..and if so then BOO to them.
There's now these big chunks of hard pieces, red and green in color, dusty looking and my bird won't even touch it and it all winds up on the bottom of the cage.
There used to be an abundance of little yellow square "cookies" inside that my bird absolutely loved to dunk in his water and eat. Lately, those yellow cookies have been diminishing inside the bag while more of those dry "dog food" looking bits are filling up the bag.
This is very disappointing to see the company that i've trusted all these years go downhill with their product in an obvious attempt to save money. I can't help but wonder if they know what the birds like and purposely diminish the quantity inside in order to make the customer buy more frequently.
I will be searching for other brands that have the little yellow cookies inside and start to wean my bird off Kaytee.
It's a shame because this used to be an excellent product that i've trusted for over 10 years.
