In 1916, the Keds brand was introduced by the U.S. Rubber Company as the first national athletic and lifestyle footwear brand. At this time, the shoes were called sneakers, a term invented in late 1916 by Keds advertising agency because the rubber soles made the shoes quiet. Worn by Olympic soccer players, scores of National and International tennis champions, and many college athletes, Keds was coined the shoe of champions because of its reputation as America's premier athletic brand. Not only was Keds a leading athletic brand, it was also the brand of choice for leading style icons due to its classic, stylish, and authentic characteristics.

When the shoes arrived I tried them on and everything seemed to fit well. Not too big, not too small. Several laps around my apartment confirmed this. Making the decision to wear them to work that day with my perfectly coordinated outfit was a great idea I assured myself.
I slipped the shoes on and decided to head out for a quick 15 minute walk with the dog before heading off to work for the day. It took all of 5 mins into the walk before I began to realize that these shoes are soooo poorly made. Its basically canvas sewn together (which is fine, whatever, its not like I didn't read the description and was expecting leather or something), but the pieces that comprise the shoe are sewn together in such a way as to maximize the raw edges that rub and scratch at your feet. I made a mental note to buy some discreet socks or shoe liners for future use hoping this might solve the problem, and continued with the walk.
Several minutes passed and it became apparent that conditions were deteriorating fast. I was trying (and failing) miserably to make my footsteps as gentle and careful as possible to not rub the top layer of my skin off. I briefly considered walking barefoot the rest of the way home.Read more ›

In every other shoe I wear a six. I would need a 6.5 in this shoe, at least, and that's if I didn't want to wear socks. Read morePublished 13 days ago by Lisa
I'm a pretty solid 7.5 in most brands of shoes, so I bought the 7.5 in these. I'd say they run a smidge short, but I'm expecting they'll stretch a bit over time. Read morePublished 14 days ago by Katherine O'Dell
Adorable and comfortable on. More feminine than the standard oxford style. Can wear without laces too as there is an elastic that holds the vamp together. Read morePublished 21 days ago by lisa murphy
Adorably comfortable shoes that you can wear with any outfit and all day. Fit my somewhat narrow feet really well and don't feel like they'll slip off at all, which is a problem I... Read morePublished 1 month ago by Tina
