I am not a representative of the "keedox" brand. I am only reselling this one unit i have.
There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
I definitely recommend this Keedox player. I'd also recommend the Micca Speck which I know is a popular choice for many. However, I'm skeptical of these reviews that say, get the Micca, it's better. It's not, it's the same. Complaints about the remote on the Keedox are valid, but only if you have the exact same critique of the Micca Speck, because they both similarly have to be directed directly at the digital player to work and neither is a dream remote with Micca having slightly better buttons. But this is a minor inconvenience on both if you ask me, you're not constantly using the remote, this isn't TV watching, you're not switching the channels during commercials or anything. Hit play and be done. Rewind or fast forward and continue watching. Or set up your media and folders so files can play one into the other for even less use of the remote. Beyond that, the interfaces of the players are very similar, the functions on the remotes are similar, how you connect the players and insert media is exactly the same. These are extremely similar players, almost like identical twins; there are a few differences, but it's hard to discern exactly what they are. The players themselves are almost carbon copies of each other in looks as well, with only the remotes having a different look and that aesthetic edge going to Micca. But this is nitpicking, these players look and function the same.
My suggestion? Go for price. Micca went up by about ten dollars after my first one died. I was not looking to overpay for a second one given the short time the first one lasted, so I bought this, as it was ten dollars cheaper than the Micca Speck at that time. And that was the right choice, I knew it then and I certainly know it even more now.
Update 10/2017 - Still working great after 2 years. Thought I'd update with some advice for the remote. If you begin to have trouble with pressing buttons on the remote and not getting quick response, trust me on this, and get some new batteries. The one that comes with is not good. Upon switching the battery in this remote, I was basically able to press a button in the general direction and the player would respond. Before I had to direct it just so to get anything to happen correctly, like it had to be at the right angle, at the right height, etc. I picked up 10 name brand batteries for five bucks here on Amazon and the remote is not an annoyance anymore. They take CR2025 batteries. Just order them, you'll thank me later.
Im sure HDMI will look nice and clean, but lots of these boxes do that... I like this so much, Im thinking of buying a second one - so many uses! - and for the price... it's a no brainer!
Was really wanting a player too that would and could play my collection and conversions throughout the years I stored on a portable USB Hard drive....So I took yet another chance and went with Keedox.. Best choice I made! I have ordered a total of 4 of these since my first one. One for a recent Christmas gift and they love it! It might be tricky though to get your TV to recognize the device if using the HDMI output. Don't know why but I had to unplug the device from the backside's power then plug it back in a few times before I got a display. That could mean many things so hopefully your TV recognizes plugged in devices. Only bad thing is the remote is too small in my opinion for all the functions it does. Tiny buttons and tiny writing. But it works well, just needed to be slightly larger. Good price too on this! I have yet to find any video format it will not play. You can also use the remote to fill the screen view from older 4:3 ratio video and there are several choices too. Liked that very much.
