What a pairing: the Owyhee (pronounced oh-waa-hee) combines the comfort of a water sandal with the stability of a shoe. Designed for river play, the adjustable secure-fit lace capture system keeps the Owyhee snug on your feet even in swift currents. When shoes and sandals mix, feet win.See all Product Description

First I bought the Teva Omnium. These were horrible summer shoes. They were hotter than my running shoes with no socks.
Then I tried the Keen Newport. Better, but still too hot. Then I tried Venice. Too hot, and the heels popped off my feet way too easily.
Then I tried Hydro Guides. This felt great and were cool, but looks...? Significant other promised that if I ever wore those, there would be no "quality time" for me.
Finally tried Owyhees. These are the ones. They're still not as cool as open-toed sandals, but they're by far the coolest of all the closed-toe sandals I've tried (except the HydroGuides. And man are they comfortable. And they stay on very well due to the moving strap across the heel (as opposed to the Newports, Venices, etc).
I've used them now for sailing, hiking, and on mountain biking/camping trips.
Great shoes. Don't ever stop making them.
So far, the mesh enclosure of the back heel seems to work fairly well. Debris can still enter the shoe from the openings on the side of the shoe, but it is relatively rare.
The Owyhees are a bit narrower and slightly shorter than the same size Newports, so you may want to go up a half size. The tightening system seems to work better than the Newports.
Overall, I would say these new Keens are another winner.
Months later, I can only say: those sandals own me! It's after thanksgiving in Missouri, and my feet still have the tan patterns from those sumptuous slotted slippers...shovelling snow in sandals?...maybe, just maybe...

I had a pair of these a few years ago, so I ordered the same size but it seems to have shrunk a bit over the years. Wish I'd ordered a half size larger.Published 1 day ago by Lamont

I like the product looks and quality, however they were too tight. All my shoes are a size 9, but my toes are touching the ends of these sandles, so I need to return for a 9.5.Published 4 days ago by Bufford T Justice
Bought these for my super picky husband and he loves them. I hate buying him shoes because he's so picky but these were a hit. KEENS are great.Published 5 days ago by Amazon Customer
I don't wear sandals so Owyhee is a good combination of tennis shoe and sandal. They are very comfortable.Published 7 days ago by Amazon Customer
