The chord this song strikes for me is nothing less than bittersweet. Linda's stirring vocals will pull your heart out if this story applies to you. A beautiful song and a sad and tender denouement for a secret lover.

This is one of my favorite Jimmy Webb songs, and Linda is one of my all-time favorite artists. Here's is not my favorite versions, but pretty darn close! Such a rich and powerful treatment of a very grown-up sad song.
