In this third book of the Wallis Jones Series we find many characters relocating, mainly because of the spreading civil war. Some of these relocations prove to be difficult. Many are unwanted, but necessary. So, people are indeed "running to and fro."
Also, knowledge about the two competing organizations and the history behind them definitely increases for many participants. Wallis learns more about one of her ancestors' involvement with one of the organizations and about the unexpected role that she has been forced to shoulder. Her son, Ned, learns much about his role in this tug of war between these organizations at a strange meeting where he is considered to be a celebrity! And we, the readers, gain much more knowledge about the conflict that is raging and spreading.
There is one piece of knowledge that exceeds all of the rest. It has to do with the origination of one of the organizations. It is a secret of the highest order. It represents a truth that one side must hide and the other must preserve. It could be the key to the outcome of the whole conflict between the two organizations.
There is finally a pivotal contest that seems to define a winner and things become more peaceful, but don't relax. Next comes a twist that causes us to doubt that the lull in the conflict will be long lasting. There could be some significant fallout from an event that seems to be in the offing. Things could get very interesting very fast.
Guess we will continue to uncover the truth and get answers to our questions in The Circle Rises, the next (fourth) book in the series. I am excited to continue enjoying this adventure.
I started this message with a quote, so I will end with one too. "The truth is out there." In this case, it is in the next book(s) in the series. So, onward to The Circle Rises.
A new player in the game appears. He has a history with Management but it seems he has his own plans now. Revenge and power are his aim.
The killing has begun again. Just a little left-over cleanup.
A family in hiding is pulled back into the "quiet war" again. The father thought he had a chance to raise his children in peace away from conflict. Then it comes to his door.
You have a good reason to be paranoid because they really are collecting your most delicate information. You have no privacy.
Even the President can be hurt in the cross-fire of these powerful groups.
And amongst all this, Wallis is trying to raise her son and dealing with his real-life growing pains.
The most sacred of secrets is whispered by a dying friend.
The death of one woman unleashes retribution and it can't be covered up. A decision is made to go to war. Sleeper agents follow their final protocol and the deaths take a toll against key members of the opposition.
A conflict hidden in the headlines that only those involved understand. In the highest office of the land, there is a leak and no one can be trusted.
