Not a bad easy pour, no spill/no mess shaker set...
Is says its a 16 oz. measuring glass, but it's only labeled for mixing to 12 oz.
It doesn't say it anywhere, but this is NOT dishwasher safe. After using it twice, the printing has started coming off. And guess where it came off, in the calibrated measuring lines.
Once you mix your drink, don't try pouring it out of the measuring glass. About a quarter of what your pour rolls over the edge of the glass, and runs down the side of the glass, onto the counter.
This thing is awful, I'm thinking of throwing it away and trying to find something better. DONT!!!! Buy this. It may be cheap, but it's cheap.....
I grew up mixing drinks, so the concept of using two cups instead of the fancy shaker with the top isn't a foreign one.
My problem with this is, the glass cup gets stuck in the shaker every single time I mix a drink.
Another problem is, the etching on the glass cup came off after just a few washes (and I was hand washing it!)
I would not recommend this to a friend, I would get them a different shaker set and a book on mixed drinks instead.
For people having trouble i'll provide some tips to use this correctly and getting it apart. I put it together too tightly the first time I used it and it was a beast to get apart.
Mix up your drink in the glass and add the ice. Place the tin on top and make sure its close but not completely against one side of the glass. (there will be a < 1/4 inch gap between the glass and tin on one side and about 3/4 on the opposite) Give the tin a little tap on top to seat it. Flip the contents into the tin (the ice will cool and contract the tin onto the glass and the weight of the glass will help maintain the seal with the tin) Holding both parts shake with a motion as long as the shaker itself. To break this seal leave the tin on the bottom, give the glass a sharp tap near the top toward the side with the big gap, rest the small gap against a counter top or bar and your body against the tin and press the glass and sorta roll the tin. It will pop right open with not too much force so make sure you have hold of the tin (and your drink). Strain from the tin if the recipe calls for it.
