No More Plastic Buckets & Carboys
Glass carboys are preferred over plastic buckets and plastic carboys for a multitude of reasons. They do not scratch easily, making them easy to sanitize and preventing them from holding odors after fermentation. They are airtight and do not break down over time, so if you handle them with care they can provide decades of great performance.
Durable Straps Make Carrying Easy
If you've ever tried picking up a slippery jar that's filled with a few gallons of liquid, you'll appreciate the convenience and safety of having a strong woven nylon strap to lift and carry the jar from place to place. The straps fit snugly around the jar and criss-cross the bottom to evenly support the weight, but can be quickly slid off the jar for cleaning.
These carboys are made of glass and should be handled with extreme care. We have been able to use both hot and cold liquids in them, but they are not impervious to thermal shock and can shatter when exposed to large, sudden changes in temperature. Use caution.

Top customer reviews
I'm kicking myself, as when I lived in Mexico, these were free from the water bottle company, yet there was no home brew market to speak of.
If you plan on brewing 5 gallon batches, which seems to be very common, these 6 gallon containers are what you're going to need for fermenting so the yeast can rise and expand without causing a huge mess for you. Cleaning these after use can be a bit of a pain because the design limits your ability to really get inside, but products like PBW or OxiClean and a carboy brush (or ever coat hanger and rag) can really help out.
These also use a standard bung so you won't be buying all new airlocks.
My only caution is be careful and make sure your hands and the carboy are pretty dry before handling them. I've seen many slip and break over the years!
It's not the easiest thing to fill or clean, but that's the nature of carboys. If you buy this I would highly recommend also buying 1) a funnel for filling and 2) a large bent brush for cleaning the bottom.
