"I don't think it's easy for a writer to pull of charming and exciting but in Kelly's Koffee Shop (A Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery Book 1) author, Dianne Harman, did just that. This is a wonderful book to spend a relaxing weekend with. It's set in one of my favorite places, the Oregon coast. Kelly is a neat character - smart, resourceful and likeable. Rebel was a great addition to a great cast of characters, even though he couldn't open a beer bottle. But more than the characters, I enjoyed this because of the great storytelling of the author - smooth and suspenseful with plenty of surprises and a fast pace. Loved it. Highly recommended. Five stars."
About the Author
Dianne Harman draws her stories and characters from a diverse business and personal background. She owned a national antique and art appraisal business for many years, left that industry, and opened two yoga centers where she taught yoga and certified yoga instructors. She's traveled extensively throughout the world and loves nothing more than cooking with her husband and playing with their boxer dog, Kelly.
Being a dog lover and having attended numerous cooking schools, she couldn't resist writing about food and dogs. She is the author of four cozy mystery series: Cedar Bay, Liz Lucas, High Desert, and her newest, Midwest Cozy Mystery Series. Each of these books contains recipes from her travels. She is also the author of the award-winning suspenseful Coyote Series.

The ultimate clue is withheld from the reader until near the end, even Kelly didn't see it.
Overall a smoothly written cozy but Kelly goes waaaaay beyond what a person would normally do because she's described as inquisitive (but she doesn't think it through and someday it will catch up with her!!).
Just to be fair I read the next installment in the series," Murder at Jade Cove" and sadly, my review of that book would be the same. I enjoy cozies, but I will not continue with this series or this author.
several different mystery novels, by different authors, only to
put them down unfinished. I get bogged down when an author
uses so much descriptive language that it confuses the storyline.
Dianne is very descriptive without detracting from the story. In fact, her style of writing moves the mystery along so fast that
I have a hard time putting the book (I pad) down. Thank you Dianne for a plethora of exciting books to look forward to. I
must pace myself so as not to devour them too fast.
