Ergonomically, it is much easier on my back than other carriers I've used, especially compared to the Ergo. This is specifically why I bought it. If you are going on vacation and space is a commodity then I would probably choose a different pack though.
I probably could have gone with the cheaper version with less cargo space, but occasionally I find the space handy. If you are going to be using it in a hot climate then I would definitely go with the 1.0.
Although I would never take my hand off of the pack with my son in it, the extending stand adds generous stability when the pack is resting on the ground for loading/unloading.
If you have a child who hates getting in a stroller I would highly recommend giving this pack, or any of the other Keltys a try.
It seems really well made, and it's actually pretty comfortable for longer periods of time, even with an almost 30 lbs child back there! It's nice that it has a bunch of compartments for the stuff that you inevitably need to take with you while traveling with kids. Eventually, we're going to get out for a hike (in nature, not the airport!!) and I think it'll work fine.

Made hiking with our toddler a breeze, until he squeezed apple sauce in my hair. Live and learn. Great carrier!Published 6 months ago by JCurrie
This carrier is very sturdy and stable for carrying kids. The storage pouches are very useful. But it is heavy. My husband wears it comfortable, but it is too bulky for me.Published 7 months ago by Michelle H
I bought this for my daughter when her son was just a baby. The fact that she is still using it for carring him at three years old and 40 pounds is more that I ever expected. Read morePublished on August 5, 2014 by joy mckenzie
Makes it easy for us to go hiking or on short walking trips without the carriage. And she loves being up higher than everyone and she can see everything.Published on December 22, 2013 by practical mom

If you're over 6'2", as both my wife and I are, be aware that this will be a hard fit.

A little hard to adjust to each person, so a little annoying when you have to transfer who's going to carry the kid. Read morePublished on December 10, 2012 by Matt H
Baby seems to find it comfortable. Has good amount of storage spaces as well. Probably too large for someone shorter than 5'3'', though.Published on December 2, 2012 by shopper123
