the biggest downside is the water bottle pockets. they are so short that no water bottle will stay in if it holds more than 8oz of water. the angled pocket on the hip band is basically useless because if you put anything in it your arm smacks it the whole times. also, the "phone" pocket on the hip band is much to skinny so its hard to get anything in there.
another downside is the main pockets. it looks like it has a lot of space, but once you put a kid in there the whole pack sort of folds at the little round space that you can see in the pack. there is a hard half circle there, I'm not sure why its there, but everything in the pack below that line is inaccessible once a child is in the pack. and this leaves hardly any room to actually put anything in the pack.
the sun shade is fine if you have a tiny tot...but my 2 year old is too tall for it so his head rubs on it and then he can't see anything so its totally pointless now.
i still use this because it is comfortable to wear him in, but i wish it was a little more practical for the price.
I nocked off a star because the sun cover rests low, and sit right on my child's head. Maybe be is just a tall boy, but it bugs me. He doesn't seem to be bother by this though. I also cannot fit my iPhone in the camera/phone pocket. The pocket is too small, and the water bottle holders can only fit plastic water bottles not the nice sturdy water bottles.
Overall, this is a nice child carrier!
