My original clay cutter got lost and I needed one ASAP because I was taking a last minute online clay sculpture workshop. Amazon's quick shipping helped in this case. The clay cutter works as expected and I am happy with it.
The issue I have with these is that for those who would use this pretty much every day - over time the metal warps and does not make those clean lines or cuts. However, for the price I think this is a good starter set.
I find the wire is too long.It is probably designed for cutting through very large pieces of bulk clay. I now use a firm, V-shaped, sharp edged plaster/scraper to cut my Plasticina which comes in smaller, more manageable rectangular pieces. It is much more convenient.
