Alright. After finally being able to buy a PS5 after more than a year, I was not sure what to buy. I'm going to be honest, I never thought about this game when the trailer was released. Most of the games that I want come out later this year but then I stumbled on this one again and said "Why not". If there is one thing I would say, it is one of the best, if not THE BEST game I have played in a long time. The soundtrack is peaceful yet stunning and elegant. The enemies come in different varieties that act differently from each other. You have a range of different actions to perform with Kena herself. My favorite is going to have to be the fact that it is not complicated at all. Gameplay is simple and not overly intense, but can provide enough challenge here and there but not want to make you break your controller(I set it to spirit guide difficult and felt like it was just right for me). You may see many people saying it looks like a Pixar film. You may agree with them based on the visuals you will encounter throughout the whole game, and they are top notch. The amount of thought and emotions that is portrayed in this game is honestly amazing to me. I had beaten the game at the time of this review and if you are looking for a nice short game to play to have fun, give this one a shot and you won't regret it. It is relaxing knowing that it is a game you can just pick up and play and not have DLC, Microtransaction, and updates shoved down your throat. My only regret is that there hasn't been a sequel announced from what I am aware of.

This game is beautiful in graphics and a good story.

wow!!! kena: bridge of spirits!!! at first it looks like a cute little colorful game……and then it hits you in the mouth. this was probably one of the most difficult games i have ever played in terms of the combat. i have not played demon’s souls yet, but i heard it’s really difficult and i’d bet anything some of the battles in this game will give it a run for it’s money. some of them took me quite a few tries, but i made it all the way to the end without adjusting the difficulty. ok, i did adjust the difficulty at first, but it was so easy that it took the fun out of the game completely, so i put it back right away. the feeling was rewarding and i am a better player now than i was before.

i only wish the game was longer. much longer. i found myself wanting more by the time i was finished. a pretty amazing play for an indie game.

it reminded me of a pixar movie or a beautiful anime kind of game.

100% loved it!!! game of the year maybe? perhaps. ghost of tsushima was pretty awesome if i may say so. but this is definitely one of my favorites on the ps5 for sure!!!

Kena is definitely a gem of a game that seemingly came out of nowhere by a small developer Ember Labs. This is their first game ever as they were only doing graphic design up until now. The game is not perfect but what it does it does very well. And honestly I can look past these flaws because of the sure enjoyment I had playing it. I was honestly hooked from beginning to end. First and foremost it looks absolutely gorgeous. You can tell the devs poured their heart and soul into this game. It’s relatively short as I probably beat it in 12-14 hours but that’s including lot of exploration and a few somewhat tricky puzzles. Having said that there’s plenty to do afterwards if you’re into getting 100%. And a lot of the side missions are just as fun/tough as the regular game play. Don’t let the cutesy look of the game fool you it does get dark at times and it’s also a fairly tough game when fighting some of the enemies/bosses. I’m close to getting 100% in the game. I actually got the digital version right when it came out. I got this physical because I wanted to support these devs in their future endeavours because unless Kena was a flash in the pan I think we’ll see some amazing games from Ember Labs in the years to come. I also to get the deluxe features it comes with. This is definitely a top two favourite PS5 game of the year.
