Functions as advertised - autofocus works on my 60D with the 70-300 IS USM lens.
Optical quality is good but not great. Image quality with this extender is about the same as cropping the photo, so for my use I didn't see any benefit to using this and returned it.

Mine just arrived yesterday so I haven't had time to really test it. However, one important note, it states in the box that it is not compatible with the Canon XT/350D.

I have a XTi/400D and it worked fine with that. I also have a 300D and a 40D that I can test it with and I'll make sure to post an update.

Basically though, XT/350D users should look elsewhere.

I have used in on my EF 70-200 f/4L and EF 50 f/1.8 and it works great. The biggest effect off course is with the 70-200. I was a little worried that the image quality would be effected or that the focus speed would go down, and I has pleasantly surprised. Focus and image quality are great, better than just cropping. Just be aware that most camera won't focus past f/5.6 so you need a f/4 lens or faster. Cheap way to turn that 70-200 to a 100-300 f/5.6!

Decent alternative to Canon and auto-focus to boot without the tape fix. I use with my Canon 6D full frame and have mainly tried it with the Canon 100-400 f4.5. L and it will auto-focus in daylight. I wouldn't use that lens indoors anyway so it works great for my needs and was as expected.

Ho acquistato questo teleconverter per utilizzarlo con una Canon 550d insieme al Sigma 17-50 f2,8 stabilizzato e un Canon 70-200 f2,8. L'apertura massima è sempre un f4 e l'autofocus funziona senza problemi di sorta con entrambi le lenti, però vuole buona luce per ottenere buone foto. Ho provato a fare delle foto di sera a Milano senza cavalletto e senza flash, in modalità automatica, ottenendo scarsi risultati. Di giorno o con il flash il risultato è migliore. Con il Sigma funziona anche a 17mm, sul grandangolo provoca un effetto di compressione delle immagini che tutto sommato può piacere anche se si nota una strana geometria. Il Sigma perde un pò della sua pulizia delle immagini, cioè ad esempio fotografando i palazzi della città si notano geometrie leggermente distorte a tutte le lunghezze. in alternativa migliora molto lo sfuocato dietro i soggetti in primo piano. Sulla lente Canon 70-200 è meno evidente il problema delle distorsioni. Tutto sommato va bene, è come avere quattro obiettivi. I dati exif sul Sigma con il teleconverter sono 23-70mm, sul Canon 98-280mm.

L'accoppiata kenko con Tamron 150-600 non funziona. La macchina non riconosce il teleconverter indicando ERR 01. Si può ovviare nastrando i tre ultimi pin di contatto lente-obiettivo. Il fuoco diventa manuale e la macchina non legge l'esposizione. E' un peccato perché il teleconverter non è male e in manuale le foto sono più che dignitose.
