The film is a nice overview of the lives of the Kennedy men and their wives. It was interesting to see that the Bay of Pigs along with all the missions Joe Jr. flew before being killed and Jackie Kennedy's dislike of the media photographers who followed her around New York were all omitted. Stockard Channing does a fine job with the narration. She gives inflection when quoting somebody, but keeps a merely informational tone in the rest of the text that she reads for the film. Unfortunately, the piece was not all about, nor did it only contain, the Kennedy's home movies to tell the story. So the title is misleading. If you want an overview of the Kennedy's lives without the times and scandals nor the glory and love-affair that America and Ireland have with the Kennedys then this would be a good film to get (or at least to start with). If you want more meat to your story, you may need to read a few of the books available on the subjects.
I ordered this by mistake and, since the return/cancel period had expired before I realized I had purchased it, it could not be returned. So, since I "own it" I watched it. It's okay for my taste but not great.
