This fountain has MAJOR manufacturing defects. First of all, you have to put this together. I've never had to put a fountain "together" aside from putting a buddha on top of a bowl and setting up the motor. With this fountain, you have to put the gold top and bottom pieces on, requiring a drill. The pieces don't fit right. Then, the part where you have to fit the motor under (in the bottom) isn't big enough. So the motor doesn't fit right. Therefore, your motor is sitting on an angle rather than having the motor suction cups square on the bottom of the fountain as REQUIRED for optimal use.
I put water in and turned the motor on. The water BARELY TRICKLES down. It certainly DOES NOT cover the entire back part of the fountain as falsely pictured in this item description. As weak as the motor is, there is NO WAY you can get the affect you want with a water-covered backdrop as you would with other fountains that are designed like this.
Bottom line: there are too many manufacture defects. Even the part you hang on the wall isn't even so you have to screw in your hooks uneven on the wall to match their inaccurate manufacturing. The water DOES NOT cover the back of the fountain. You'd be lucky to get a tiny dribble down the middle or off to one side.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS FOUNTAIN. FIND SOMETHING ELSE.
In order to get water to run all the way across the stone (rather than off to one side), simply run a wet finger along the top and then down the front...
This is a very nice and affordable addition to our office and we've been pleased with it.
