This mouse has excellent tracking. It outperforms my Kensington Optical Mouse (which is practically the same) and tracks well on white papers and other shiny surfaces which the optical mouse would not.
The rubber grips are the reason why I bought this Kensington and not a Logitech and also the price. The grips feel solid and give way as you hold the mouse for an extended period of time so my hand doesn't feel sore. Although they are a bit loose and not glued on very well by Kensington, I have had no problem with them peeling all the way off.
And if they did, I have some nice epoxy that will take care of it!
The buttons click nicely and smoothly and the overall shape may be a bit big for smaller hands but I have average size hands for a man and it fits perfectly.
The black/silver color scheme is also very attractive.
I cannot comment on the middle scroll button which you can click from side-to-side because I did not bother installing the software to use that function. I find that I don't really need anything besides a 2/3 button mouse with scroll.
Overall, excellent purchase. I have 2 Kensington mouses (mice?) that have worked flawlessly over the years and am happy that I purchased them.
Remarking on the design: seemed to fit well in my hand, though it was a bit bulky; usb cord was very long -- a desktop user would not have any issues with its reach; might have been an enjoyable product if it worked properly.
I'm a bit disappointed, I was always a fan of Kensington products, starting with the 90s trackball. I also have a cordless optical notebook mouse. I've been seeking a replacement b/c it chews through batteries like none other. So far I am 0-2 on satisfaction with Kensington mice.
However, the first one fell to pieces after 9 months (the glue holding the rubber sides peeled off).
The scroll-wheel on the new one has begun to squeak (yes - it's a mouse - ha ha - not laughing).
The design is great - materials are less so.
It is very responsive and fast.
The clicking is easy, and the scrolling and buttons work perfectly.
It fits comfortably in my hand.
It could and should be heavier. (Maybe it just slips too good, doesn't seem lighter than my old mouse...?)
And it won't work off my keyboard USB so it displaces another device on the main USB ( Need another D-Link hub)
Beyond these two niggles it's a fine mouse. I ordered the wired on purpose because I cannot deal with even ONE more battery powered device that is basically on all the time.
