Had it for a few weeks now and it does have a chemical smell that's been slowly wearing off. To be perfectly honest (and slightly confused), I actually like the smell. It reminds me of a clean office (not really sure why). I will also say that the smell will stick to the underside of your wrists, so just be aware of that. Weird biases aside, I do appreciate that it's not actually made with gel, and the firmness is perfect for my wrists (they sink in about half a centimeter into the pad). So far, with moderate use, there are no peels or any signs of wear on my pad. The length is also perfect for my keyboard and mouse combo; I have a Razr keyboard that's about 15.5 inches (it's compact, but I like it), so I can also use my mouse perfectly fine next to my keyboard. I think the fairly cheap price is good also because it's not too expensive to replace if something does happen to your pad.

If there are any updates, this review will reflect that. But as of now, I'm very satisfied with this pad.

For about twenty years, all I used were gel pads for my keyboard and mouse. I upgraded to different types throughout the years and never thought I’d change until my last one popped and gel started oozing out. Who knows how long it oozed for before I noticed. All I know is that one day, the keyboard pad felt flatter and I saw this sticky, clear gel all over my desk.

Not only did it take me several hours to remove the gel from the desk, my keyboard was also ruined and had to be thrown out.

Time to try something new. I bought this keyboard pillow pad and it’s been great. It turns out that I like the way the pillow feels better than the gel anyway! It’s comfortable, supportive, and feels very durable. My only wish is that the pad would spread all the way across instead of having two different pads since there’s a gap that I notice all the time. Never going back to gels again!

This guy does the trick. I like that it's soft, but not too soft that it doesn't actually support your wrist well enough. I'm not sure what's with the design of it on the right hand side where it separates just a bit, but I'm assuming it's for use with the 10 key portion of a keyboard?

Anyhow, this is a pretty functional wrist wrest that is cheap and seems to hold up decently well. I recommend it for under $10.

Pros:
The cushion rotates my hand back into better positions for typing and using the touch-pad for the mouse.
Fits my 14.5 inch (screen diagonal) laptop size.

Rubberized bottom keeps cushion from sliding around.
Extra pillow for mouse use (but I don't use it)

I purchased this wrist pillow for use with my iMac (aluminum model). The keyboard for these computers sits lower than the height of this wrist pillow, which makes it awkward to use if you place it right at the base of the keyboard (which is how most of us use keyboard wrist pillows). If you separate the keyboard and wrist pillow about 4-5 inches it helps, but it still doesn't feel quite as natural as if you were using it with a PC keyboard. Works very nicely with PC keyboards, however.

I have carpal tunnel syndrome and this helps keep my wrist at an even level with sufficient padding. There is a bit of a chemical smell when it is first opened but it is not unbearable in my opinion. For the price it is a super helpful addition to anyone who types a lot on the computer.

I have purchased a number of these Kensington Wrist Pillows over the years - they are just the most comfortable that I have found. I use them both with my laptop and with the peripheral keyboard. It's surface washable, and is very light. The bottom is made of a no-skid fabric so it doesn't move around a lot. Will continue to buy this brand and type so long as it's available.
