Well, when I received the bike (which was late by a day of the expected 2-day delivery, but oh well), I wanted to see how difficult it could possibly be. Let's just put it this way - some parts were challenging because the instructions are useless, however, with a little common sense, and maybe Google, it's not impossible. Oh, I should mention, I have never installed a bike before. I'm not a mechanic nor do I spend my time building furniture. My day job is in IT networking, but I wanted to prove to my boyfriend that I could be just as handy as he is. Two hours later, and I have a beautiful white bike. I did remove all the ugly stickers and it looks so much better without them. I may purchase more conservative vinyl stickers of my own to decorate the bike later, if I can find the right type.
I should emphasize that this bicycle is under $200 which, in the bike world, is considered an economical bike. It's like the Toyota Corolla of the Toyota lineup or the Ford Focus of the Ford lineup. With that said, it is by far a great value. The quality may not be the best, but overall, it puts together nicely. It has great features and a rack! I love that back rack and can't wait to put it to use.
Sadly, I didn't research the height of this bike and it may be slightly big for me. I'm 5'2" and about 120lbs and can't get a good stance while sitting on the saddle, even when the seat is all the way down. I just stand up and the problem is solved for me, but I should give you short ladies (or guys) a slight warning in case you're more concern about getting a bike that suits your height.
Because of my small frame, lifting this bike up on a bus's bike rack is not easy, but just a minor inconvenience compared to the overall beauty of this bike.
Six Months Later: This is clearly a cheaper quality bike that isn't meant for long-term, long-distance rides. I commuted with it for a while and I've put over 500 miles on it over the course of about 3 months, but then issues that were small started to get worse and worse. The bike started rattling and the rattle got worse and worse over time. The gear shifting got less and less smooth, and it would randomly deshift out of gear and it became an issue of safety. Also the bike is pretty heavy at about 40 lbs or so. Anyways I appreciated it for what it was, but I had to save up and get a really good bike. I ended up getting a Trek that I'm really happy with. It's a night and day difference. The Northwoods bike is fine for light occasional riding, but if you are doing it consistently for longer distances, you'll want to invest in a nicer bike. This is why I've reduced my rating to 3 stars from 4.

-not a spring seat. Pic in add looked like spring seat but it is not.
-lots of sticker. Think will end up taking them off
-no instructions. Was easy for me to figure out how to assemble.
-ok did a lot of research before buying this bike. I mean a lot. Found a few that I really like but read a few reviews that people said this bike couldn’t be beat for a price. Many more expensive bikes didn’t have as good of reviews.
-great frame. Built way better than most this style. Beefy frame
-rims look good and made well
-nice adjustments. For seat and handle bars.
-looks really nice.
-light bike. Not heavy at all
-rear rack is built like a truck. Was expecting it to be flimsy metal. Nope heavy duty. Wouldn’t be scared to haul items on this rack.
-steel fenders. Fender have space to move over tires. Don’t think should rub.
-good bike for taller lady.
-sits comfortably. Wish had spring seat but sits ok. See if I replace.
-nice front shocks. More movement than I thought it would.
Haven’t used yet. November in Canada. But looks good! As a teen my summer job was to assemble bikes. Still can’t over how much it cost. Hard to beat this bike for price.
Note basket doesn’t come with bought separately.
Things you need to know: This is a big bike. You need to be at least 5'8" or taller to comfortably ride it.
