Product Description

Ker Plunk! is a blast from the past with a cool look and attitude! The object of the game is to skillfully remove the sticks from the tube while dropping the fewest marbles possible. The translucent tube stands upright on a base that contains four separate numbered trays. Each player selects a numbered compartment to use throughout the game, and the straws are passed through holes midway of the tube to form a lattice "web.” The marbles are then placed in the top of the tube and held in place by the web. Just set it up, start playing and watch out for marbles that go “Ker Plunk!” The players must use steady hands and a cool head to remove the sticks from below the marbles. This best game from yester-year is just as much fun today! Share your great memories or start new ones! You and your friends will have a blast playing Ker Plunk!, just don’t let the marbles fall! For 2 to 4 players.

First, everyone complains about the "flimsy" sticks. They're built that way to make it more dynamic to get the sticks through from one side to another. Others complained about the marbles. I don't have a problem with the marbles, but at the end of the day plastic balls for a dollar can replace it. I think people just don't know how to use it. It also can be put into 3 parts so you can put the sticks through and then connect the game. This game is fun and worth the price.

If you are buying because you had one in the 70's/80's just know that the tube isn't as big, the sticks are smaller, shorter & thinner than the orginal, also you have to hold the tube while removing the sticks. The marbles are still glass though.
My grandkids didn't know the difference and we still enjoyed several games at our 1st sitting.

Ordered this for my 3 year old who wanted to play pick up sticks. The game is just as fun as I remember it, but as with everything, upgrades always change the gameplay and the quality just a bit. For starters, the marbles contained in this version are just plain old cat’s eye marbles and not the solid-colored marbles from the past. The pick up sticks are pretty flimsy, though they have to be in order to serve their purpose. I guess my biggest gripe is the base, which you have to turn / twist after each turn. I don’t remember if the original version requires you to do this, but in this version, having to twist the entire tower actually causes marbles to fall. Still a great game and one that my daughter loves playing.

A classic game...made as cheaply as possible. Technically it works and you can play, but the sticks are flimsy and sad, and very annoying to use. If you have too much angle, they slid out. Nothing makes games with small children more fun than extra aggravation. I guess the company wanted to save the nickel rather than give its customers a game that would endure...but hey, capitalism, am I right?

Yet another childhood classic ruined by corporate greed.

I played this when I was younger and I loved it, so I bought it for my granddaughter
the only thing I would say is that there should be more sticks and more marbles.
I am not sure if its because am bigger now and the game seems smaller.
or if it actually is smaller, either way we are still having great fun playing with it.

What a shame this is. I remember this game from years ago and it was good fun and of good quality. Unfortunately this new version is as other reviewers have already pointed out of very poor and cheap quality. Shame on you Mattel when I used to see your name on the box I know it used to guarantee good quality but from now on if I see Mattel on the box it will symbolize cheap tat and I will avoid at all cost.

Sticks are poor quality and don't stay in the holes, which is part of the point of this game. You don't want them sliding out before the game starts. At textual of sounding like an old fart, the product was way better in the 80s
