From the manufacturer
Made in America, the sleek, lightweight Link-Tanto (1776T) all-purpose utility folding pocket knife offers Kershaw’s high quality at an affordable price. Built with extremely sharp and durable 420HC stainless steel, the Tanto-blade is designed to puncture or stab various materials and can be used every day for craftwork, food preparation (cutting, slicing or chopping), outdoor sports (hiking, climbing, fishing, hunting) or for daily home needs. The stonewashed finish gives the blade surface a desirable roughened or scuffed look and helps hide scratches, fingerprints and dirt. SpeedSafe Assisted Opening technologies, built into Kershaw’s best sellers, allow for quick and safe one-handed blade deployment with use of the flipper. Pre-drilled holes in the glass-filled nylon handle for the reversible pocketclip enable either left of right handed users to change tip positions or the side on which the knife carries. The liner lock secures the blade open during use and prevents closure.

Slightly pricey, but seeing as how the reviews on the other knives mentioned how they weren't sturdy, I decided to spend the extra and pick up this knife, and I don't regret it (but I will mention I'm not super well versed in knives other than kitchen knives.) Handle is made from the same ultra dense plastic that some companies are making the plastic knives from, so you know its durable, while also being light weight.
I picked up this shape of blade, because one of the review mentioned its easier to sharpen than a curved blade, and I have found the same to be true myself. I also chose it because it has enough of a finger guard to prevent slippage, should you need to defend yourself. One thing I had never really considered about knives until a friend mentioned it, is that a wet knife (be it blood or water) can easily slip and cut your own tendons, so some kind of finger guard is a good idea.
I feel like at about $10 cheaper, this knife would get 5 stars, but what do I know, maybe they couldn't even make money at that price.
