The grit however doesn't allow for razor sharpness because it is not a fine enough grit but it does make them sharp enought to cut paper like butter. This is a must have Grit (600 grit). Then after this, if you want a polish or prolly razor sharp blade, get a 1000grit diamond rod.
This grit is pretty fine tho, just to be clear, if you rub your fingers on it, it feels almost like nothing is there but it might give your that scratching chockboard feel that is gross lol
This is so small, it is only good for field use. I sharpened a 8inch kitchen knife with it tho. It's just very uncomfortable to use since it's so small. I'd say get a 12" rod or something long cause this is more of a field rod.
The only negative is the length of the sharpening surface. It's a bit short, which makes it only slightly difficult to sharpen longer blades. I found my 3 3/8th inch (Kershaw Ken Onion Tactical Blur Folding Knife with Speed Safe) blade even a little awkward to sharpen on this, but did get the hang of it. If the sharpening surface were a little longer, this would be THE perfect sharpener. Even still, it's definitely the best one I've used.
I use it for 5" or less pocket knives, xacto blades, carpet/utility knife blades, etc and it works great when you just need that little bump up in sharpness.
My major complaint and the reason for loss of a star is the crap quality threads which came with burs and junk stuck in them. Maybe it just slipped by QC, but with a name like Kershaw I expect better.
Obviously snap off razor blades are not really expensive, but this sharpener means I never have to snap off a piece because it gets dull, and it allows me to use the full length of the blade. Thanks to this sharpener I am still on the original blade that came with my $2 knife after several months of using it.

Kept my box cutter in tip top shape as I beat the heck out of it! :)
Another cosplay staple that keeps my foam cutting game strong - I sharpen my blades between cuts and keep a clean line because of it.Published 18 hours ago by Kristin Brenemen
I use this a lot for sharpening utility blades and other types of knives. Very easy to use. I just put a little spray of WD-40 to keep it lubricated after every couple uses. Read morePublished 6 days ago by Amazon Customer
