Kester 44 Rosin Flux is an activated rosin formula for use in flux-cored solder wire. Kester 44 Rosin Flux has virtually dominated the field of activated rosin core solders for well over four decades. An outstanding performance feature of this flux is the "instant-action" wetting behavior. The high mobility and fast-spreading action of this flux results in more reliable production line soldering.

I like Kester products. Their solder has never failed me. It flows beautifully and holds well. No issues. I would much rather pay a little more for something like this, than pay a little less and fight with product.
The only complaints I have heard about this solder relates to the price. Really..???? $5.95 for a tube that will last for a long time and complete several projects (well, unless you are soldering entire circuit boards or building a computer from scratch..). Frankly, I can't see the issue. I spend more than that sometimes for a cup of coffee...(and you do too if you ever stop at Starbucks or any other beanery...)...
Five stars. Excellent product. Easy to use. No issues.
My most recent project was un-soldering and re-soldering countless LEDs from two different strips to create one strip with a color temperature I wanted...(Don't ask)
Without this solder, I don't think I could have done this slightly more delicate work. It melts and flows so well. I could go in, heat everything quickly and get out, not overheating the LEDs.
Just make sure to have good ventilation, (fan)!
It flows silky smooth on my soldering stations lowest setting, and provides a beautiful solder join while being extremely easy to use.
The tube design, while allowing less solder than a traditional spool, provides a pleasant way to deliver solder to your project. I found it especially handy when soldering pin headers, as it allows you to get nice and close to your project while still retaining complete control over how much solder you need at the time.
Kester's solder really shines in it's quality however, and I have never been this amazed, and so pleasantly surprised, by a purchase that I had never considered as important as it turned out to be.
I now know the difference. I'll be buying the big 1 pound thing of this.... in a year or so... cause this thing seems to last forever!
Why I like it:
- Makes soldering so much easier (lower temp)
- Beautiful soldering spots!
- Convenient little packaging-pen thingie!
Love it! - Buy it!
