I have been gradually working my way through a spool of (Rapid brand) solder I bought a long time ago in the UK. It was nice solder but I only have a few feet left. I have tried a couple of the Chinese solders and have been less than impressed. They are supposedly of similar composition put they just don't solder as nicely. They don't wet the joints well and seem to have a higher melting point.

After looking around, this one seemed to have some good reviews. It's slightly thinner than my original solder which is what I was looking for as I'm starting to do more SMT stuff. Unfortunately, it's usually only available in a big spool but this company is cutting it down and selling it. Unfortunately, that pushes the price per lb up quite significantly. On the other hand, it would be something of a gamble to go for the bigger spool. So I decided to bite the bullet on this smaller package.

The good news is that it's great. The solder goes on buttery smooth. It's at least of a similar quality to my old spool and maybe better. If I could roll back time, I'd go for the bigger spool but if your solder needs are modest, this may be the purchase for you.

completely satisfied with this product i hesatated at first becouse of the fact that it came in a tube do to the fact that i tipically favor the spoll but on as i started using it i began to se lil difrences that i probably woulnt've even considerd prior to this purches like for example not only is the tube easy to to store but do to its size and shape it allows you to place it in more conviniant areas of whatever project you might use it for providing the user with a more confortable placement and accessability of the product and my favorite part is that it always stays clean and lint free (provided you keep it in the tube) so in conclusion i highlly recomend this product thank ou guys very much
