These just pop in like they are part of the system. Yes, they are pricey - but they work.

*Messy clean up with the K-Cup
Overall I am pleased with this K-Cup. It is priced higher than the older 2.0 K-Cups, but this one fits the newer models. It saves money in the long, so the price is worth it. This updated version of the Reusable K-Cup needs a filter which would make clean up easier. I am giving this 4-Stars because of the messy clean up. I would still highly recommend this Reusable K-Cup.
As soon as I popped it into my Keurig K250, I was in love with my Keurig all over again! I was tired of buying expensive brand-name K-Cups or trying to hack my coffee maker to use non brand K-Cups only to have the hack fall apart in the morning while I'm rushing out the door. On the rare occasion that my Kcups did work, I was only able to get 10 ounces Max as per the K250 settings, which left a lot of empty space in my travel cup or "American size" coffee mug.
This reusable K-Cup opened up the menu to be able to pick any of the options that Keurig offers, allowing me to brew up to 14oz and all the way down to 4oz (increasing in 2oz increments). It has a carafe option, as well as a 4-ounce froth option. I have not tried the carafe option yet, and I cannot verify if you need the brand name carafe or if this option works well. I have also not tried the froth since I don't find a need for it.
There is a green MAX indicator for coffee ground allotment inside the cup. I usually put about a tablespoon of grounds and do not fill up to the green MAX indicator since I assume that would be carafe size. My brewed coffee cup does not have grounds in it and does not taste watered down. And yes, I am a frequent coffee drinker patronizing small and large coffee chains so I do have a taste for coffee.
I highly reccomend trying this product since, if nothing else, you can always return it.
It's a little confusing that there seem to be two versions of the 2.0 My K-Cup reusable coffee filter. One version (the "older" version) indciates on the product page that it has been discontinued and replace with this newer version. I purchased both and as far as I can tell the only difference between the two is the package, otherwise they seem identical to me. What you must be certain of however is that you do not purchase the old style My K-cup that was designed for the pre-2.0 Keurig brewers. That one is an entirely different design that absolutely won't work in the 2.0 brewers.
I also own an Ekobrew 2.0 reusable coffee filter and the Keurig Hot filter works much better than the Ekobrew filter. I don't like how the Keurig filter feels though...it seems like the top will break because it is thin and just doesn't inspire confidence. I do like that the top has a silicone gasket that will prevent coffee grounds from getting out of the filter basket and into your coffee. What you still might get is some fine sediment though. Normal K-cups have a paper filter in them that keeps just about all sediment out of your brewed coffee. But since the My K-cup has a fine mesh instead of a paper filter, some sediment is inevitable. The finer you grind your coffee, the more sediment you are likely to get. You don't want to use too fine of a grind anyway since the Keurig brewer is not designed to work well with fine ground coffee. Better to use a medium to medium-coarse grind for best coffee flavor.
The main reason the Keurig 2.0 brewer makes better tasting coffee compared to the pre 2.0 brewer is because it pulses water through the grounds at a slower rate. This allows the water to have longer contact with the grounds which allows more coffee flavor to be extracted. The My K-cup holds about 2.5 Tablespoons of coffee and I get a satisfying cup of coffee without using wasteful disposable K-cups. The other advantage of using the reusable K-cup is the huge cost savings. Normal K-cups can cost anywhere from about $.50 per cup up to nearly $1.00 per cup. The reusable K-cup can get that cost down much lower.
