Ok so I saw the reviews that this coffee maker gets to a point where it makes noise and doesn't spit out coffee/makes lukewarm coffee and I made the same mistakes. This is not a $175 Kuerig, it takes a little bit to make one cup of coffee in a machine that's the size of a desk lamp. Put water in the reservoir, add a cup, push the button....and resist the urge to freak out when you don't immediately get coffee. It will make noises and the light on top will go from being solid to pulsing slowly. It will then spit coffee out once it is hot enough. Lukewarm coffee comes when you panic because you don't have your fix soon enough so you add more water and hammer on the button like a crack addict (spoiler it mixes the hot water it's making with the cold water you added, also wastes a cup)
TL;DR this machine works fine, set it up for one cup, push the button, and wait 2 minutes before jonesing

Excellent machine; ignore negative reviews

I bought this machine to replace my 10-year-old Mr. coffee licensed Keurig which was beginning to make lackluster coffee. After using this for a week, I must say this is an excellent little machine. I am convinced that the negative reviews I read - where people were describing having to add more water because it would not brew, and then it would come out lukewarm - are simply people who did not understand how the machine works. The noise you first hear is simply the pump taking in the water to start warming it. After about a minute of silence the machine begins to brew and makes noise again. If you cannot wait for the 60 seconds of silence while the water is warming, and feel the need to add more water, then yes, you’re going to screw it up and get crappy coffee. But if you put your water and pod in, press the button and just wait for the thing to finish, it will make you extremely hot, rich coffee. It takes less time than my previous machine, and it makes much, much hotter coffee. Again, this is a great machine.
