The sleek design is very attractive, everything in one compact unit. With the cord storage and pod holder it’s simple to take the coffee-maker with you if you’d like. I have the perfect little canvas drawstring bag which fits it They even included six sample pods.
The one-cup reservoir is simple to fill with the cup you’re going to use so you know the exact amount of coffee you’re going to get. After I ran a couple of cups of water though, to clean the unit, I popped in a pod and got a perfect cup of coffee. This will also work with my little re-fillable pod. By the way don’t use distilled water.
The K-mini costs about the same as the larger Keurig but I really can’t tell the difference except the reservoir. With the K-mini you always have fresh water. You only make one cup at a time but that’s what you do with the big one, too. Filling the reservoir each time is a great trade-off for the space saving.
Nope, no cavil from me.
Note 9/19: I don't want to mislead anyone so maybe I should clarify. The K-mini can be used with the Keurig "my K-cup reusable filter". You will have to remove the adapter on the bottom and it takes a bit of jiggling to seat the filter. When you have the filter in you can't use the pods. Also the "ekobrew" and iparts filters won't fit the K-mini. At least I couldn't get them to fit.
Quality Control would catch this defect normally. Sampling every tenth unit should pick up this problem. However, the QC department is not catching this issue. There is No excuse for such sloppy work.
TL;DR this machine works fine, set it up for one cup, push the button, and wait 2 minutes before jonesing

Expensive to buy at $160 total plus it works best ONLY if you are going to use prepackaged Keurig pods @ $1.30 per cup. If you grind your own coffee you will need to buy a Keurig Reusable Filter/Pod system @ $20. This should be an option when you are purchasing or include it as part of the Mini purchase! The lockdown system on the Keurig Reusable consists of one small plastic tab which the lid locks under. Be very precise with this & double check or you will be greeted with a counter of water & coffee grounds. Is a screw down cap that hard to make? There are other third party reusable systems for the Mini available on Amazon & the only one that seems to fit & work properly is the deLibru Reusable - ($20) . There are several others that previously had good reviews but the "PLUS" upgrade to the Keurig Mini seems only to be a redesign of the filter holder system so that some of these third party filters no longer fit correctly. With any of these systems I would recommend the addition of the canFly paper filters if you are not a fan of coffee grounds. This is another $25 for 300!
From Keurig site, "Keurig believes that the optimal temperature for brewing coffee, tea, and hot cocoa is 192°F". Their "belief" is also influenced by the 1994 McDonald's lawsuit where a lady sued after spilling her hot coffee & was awarded almost $3 million by the jury. So today I will tell you from personal experience, if you pounce on your coffee as soon as the Mini finishes brewing, you have about a 5 minute window before it is lukewarm. There is no heater adjustment on the Keurig Mini unlike some of their other models as we cannot be trusted deciding what constitutes "hot" coffee, at least with the Mini. Or you ca purchase a microwave, brew with the Keurig & then warm it up to a suitable temperature.
There are four main parts to the Keurig system; water reservoir, pump, heater, filter. If one of these parts fails, the whole system goes down. As with everything else in the 2000s, nothing is replaceable except the filter. So the only person I would recommend the Keurig Mini Plus to is someone who likes fashion over function & likes a good cup of prepackaged lukewarm Keurig coffee. This is not for anyone who prefers to grind their own coffee beans or likes "hot" coffee. Too bad....this could have been a really good product. I will keep it as a decorative piece on the mantle & go back to my Black & Decker kettle & Melita cone pour over system.
