I saw a recall for the minis, but I bought this one at a local Dept Store for under $100 and was assured it was not the problem models (they'd removed them). It has a small footprint so we can set it up on a small cafe table where the teens hang out. I bought a Cafe Europa K-Cup assortment and trying all the different flavors of tea/coffee/cocoa is fun. I also bought a Gold Tone refillable K-cup system to use any ground coffee and it works great.
Keurig offers a buy one get on free K-cup offer with the registration card in the box. You can get a really good deal on K-cups from their site, as little as 33 cents per cup for official cups.
The answer is yes. I use it every single day. Even my husband, who was against buying this uses it a few times per week.
It does not have a water resevoir, which I like because if I decide to skip a day or two, I didn't want water sitting in the machine. Plus, in summer, I doubt I will use it as much. I wanted something small and skipping the machines with the water resevoir saves space.
The pods are not cheap, but you can buy any brand you want, plus if you don't drink a lot of coffee or other drinks, it's really not expensive, especially if you normally get a single cup at a coffee shop. Most pods are between 75 cents and a $1. Gevalia makes some delicious lattes that cost a little more than a $1 each, so I try not to drink them every day.
If you are a heavy coffee drinker, this is not the machine for you. We kept our regular coffee maker for the mornings when my husband likes to take 4 cups or more to work. This mini brewing system is perfect for someone who wants to drink 1 cup in the morning or maybe 1 cup in the evening.
